Step by step, you moved closer to your locker. Your previous classes book still held in your grasp and the echo of foot steps bouncing off the walls. The halls were alight with conversation, none of which you were involved in. You walked the final few steps and lent you hand against the cold metal of your school locker. You hand traced the area until the it was wrapped around the small combination lock, spinning it until you heard the all too familiar click. You swung your door open, placed your many books inside and grabbed your lunch.

You strolled to the back of the school, sat yourself on the table you had never spent a lunch without and unpacked your food. You peeled open the container, grabbed the plastic white fork and stabbed at the leafy green lettuce. Your appetite was minimal for once in your life and you couldn't help but stab at the not so tasty looking food. The different shades of green would usually make you drool but now it made you want to spew.

You wrested your feet on the other end of the chair. You fixed the laces on your shoes and pulled your phone from your back pocket. The notification rang through your phone, jackaverymusic posted to Instagram, your heart fluttered and your finger pressed the notification faster than you expected yourself to.

The image was of Jack singing his heart out on stage. You smiled at how happy he seemed but your heart was hurting that you couldn't be there to experience it with him. You had met when you were 3 and you stole his crayon, from that day on you became better friends that any other people on the planet, from what you could imagine. You spent everyday at his house, his parents even cleared out the spare bedroom for you, you rarely slept in it though. You would sleep in Jack's bed every single night whether he was in it or not, you didn't mind. The scent, the warmth, the comfortability he left behind was enough to lull you to sleep, though your most peaceful nights were with his arms around your waist. You had never been anything but friends but you could admit the odd kiss or two had been shared. Jack was your favourite person alive, with your parents traveling so often you assumed they had forgot then had a child, you had never exactly experienced family like Jack had. His family took you in, taught you what love was and how to express it. Jack's sisters called you their sister and his mother had even joked from time to time about adopting you.

As you stared at the image, red jacket coating his upper body and overly ripped jeans covering the bottom half, his hair flipped to one side and his beautiful smile slightly covered by the microphone, your heart swelled. Having not seen the boy in person in almost 3 years even seeing his image made you want to cry. The back of the school, where you sat, had a few tables each filled with loudly talking students. As your finger hovered over the like button and your fingers prepared to type a comment, the people around you suddenly went silent. You looked up from your phone to see what could cause the hyper people of your school to suddenly calm.

You eyes went to the beautiful blonde sitting a few seats away, her phone held open in her grasp like it had just been used and forgotten. You followed her direction of view to something that made the phone drop from your hand. The only sound was that of the mobile device clanging against the metal table. Your jaw dropped, your eyes widened and your heart beat faster. You jumped from your seat, your body propelled over the small table and your legs carried you faster then you knew they could. You leaped into the arms of the awaiting guest, your legs wrapped tightly around his waist, you hands gripped into his curly swirly locks. You wrested your forehead against his, his dark brown eyes stared deeply into yours. You watched a single tear rolled his cheek, your eyes mimicked the same action.

"Hey princess." The words sent shivers down your spine. Your body electrified at the simple gesture, you hummed at his voice. The deep tones you had missed so much, the rough edge to his voice you had wished to hear every day and night. His arms wrested beneath your ass, holding your weight, carful you wouldn't fall. He pulled your body closer to his, if that was even possible.

Your legs clung to his body, fear entered your mind, worried if you loosened your grip even a little he would slip away forever.

"Jack." Your voice was just above a whisper, you didn't even know if he had heard you. You were unaware at this moment but hearing your voice, even just for one word, made his heart beat faster than it already was.

"I missed you so damn much." He whispered not removing eye contact for even a second. You took in a shaky breathe as more tears spilled from your eyes. You had missed him so much it was slowly killing you, the shock had overcome your mental state.

"I miss you more than you can imagine Jack Robert Avery and I swear to god if you go 3 years without speaking to me again... You will regret breathing." A smirk tugged at his lips, his chest raised and fell as he chuckled at your words.

"I like her already!" You had become so wrapped up in Jack, literally, that the rest of the world had fallen away, you hadn't released that 4 other boys had also walked into your school, falling slightly behind Jack.

You didn't want to let go of Jack, you didn't want to look away. You wanted this moment to be pause but you had to admit that the rest of the world was going to continue. You could tell Jack didn't want to pull away from you but he also wanted you to meet, who you assumed, were his friends. He didn't let you go but he did look away, he turned your body to face his friends. His lips tugged into a large smile.

"Boys, meet my beautiful, stunning, intelligent, fabulous, childhood bestfriend and princess, Y/N."
