"Hey, Ruby." I smiled to my friend of four years.

"Hi, (Y-y/n)." He stuttered.

I had just got to his house. Me and him were planning my quinceañera. He was excited. I on the other hand, was not.

"So what do you got?" I asked. He stared at me quizzically.

"What do you mean?"

"Ruby, my quince. Remember?"

"Oh yeah. Yeah I gottchu." I laughed at him. He obviously forgot.

"Aight dumbass." I muttered under my breath. We walked over to the kitchen table. Ruby pulled out a chair for me.

"Your so sweet, Ruben." I blushed lightly. Hopefully he did not see that, I mentally freaked out.

I have liked Ruby since I practically met him. We were younger and I had just moved to Freeridge. I was mortified. I knew no one. My parents had just divorced and I was living with my mom. We had moved to her "safe-home-town" where she had grown up.

Well that was a total lie. Even a nine year old, like myself, knew that it was not safe. I would go to sleep hearing faint gunshots almost every night. And on a rare occasion, the shots would be near my street or worse, in front of my home. But that all changed when I met him. We instantly hit it off. We would constantly be around each other.

Once we got older and we were in middle school, that's when I had started growing feelings for him. We would hang out a lot less when our small group grew. After Jamal, Cesar, and Monse had started being our friends, that's when I began missing him. Missing our late night talks, hanging out at each others houses, walking together everywhere. But that all stopped when it became a five person thing. No longer just me and Ruby.

"I got all the decorations ready, but we still need a dress." He said sternly, "And why is that, (Y/N)? Because you haven't picked one out! We need to get one pronto. And it can't be a cheap ass one. It needs to be beautiful. Absolutely increíble!"

I nodded while slouching in the chair. This dude is stressing me out.

"I have picked out a dress, Ruben." he stopped pacing and looked at me.

"First of all, don't call me that it's Ruby. And second, where is it? 'Cause I don't see it!" He spoke while putting his hands on his hips. I almost snorted out laughing but I was too annoyed to even let that happen.

"That's because your in charge of every-single-damn-thing. This is my quince not yours. And if it means that the dress is something that I can be in "charge of" then I'm going to keep it that way." I sighed. Getting up from the chair I grabbed my bag.

"Hey! Why are you leaving?" Ruby asked.

"Your stressing me out." I said as I walked out the front door.

It's been two days since I had last talked to Ruby or even seen him. He tried calling and texting but I just ignored him. I needed a break, even if it was just for two days. My quinceañera was today and I was not ready for it. I was excited but not with Ruby on my ass 24/7.
