•"Dad, do I really need to go to school? It's not like we are learning anything. Summer is literally next week!" I pleaded to my father who was already ignoring me.
We just moved to Freeridge and I was in no mood to start school when everyone would be leaving in the next 7 days.
"No. You still have a week and you might learn something. Maybe more exams?" He smirked, obviously wanting to kick me out of the house while he unpacked our belongings.
"But I already finished my exams." I grumbled while walking back to my room. I knew I already lost the argument between me and my dad.
"I love you!" I heard him say from the kitchen.
"Yeah yeah."
I stepped into my new bedroom that was full of boxes. I wish I could just stay and unpack all day, rather than being the awkward new girl. But no, my dad just had to get in the way of things.
I had a few outfits and necessities that were already unpacked so I just changed into that. There was nothing I could really do. It would be different if it was the first day and I had to make an impression. But no, it's the end of the year.
I walked back out of my room and into the kitchen where my dad was. He smiled at me while dangling the car keys around his fingers.
"Oh stop moping (Y/n). You'll be fine! You can make some new friends so that you'll know people for next year." He reassured while sipping from his coffee cup.

"Bye (Y/n)." Dad waved as I unbuckled my seatbelt. We were in the High Schools parking lot and I didn't want to be here until after summer ended.
"Bye." I mumbled while shutting the car door.
I followed the nearby kids on the sidewalk and into the school. Luckily I didn't have to go to the office because I had already gotten my schedule.
My first period was English and was in room 267. I had no clue where that was, so I took a guess that it was upstairs.
Again, I followed the crowd of teens up the stairs and onto the second floor. But of course I had to be a dumbass and bump into someone beside me.
"I am so sorry!" I apologized.
"It's okay. Are you new? You look a little lost." A voice laughed slightly. I looked up and saw a boy who looked about my age. He had a buzz cut and a tank top on.
"Yeah I am." I laughed nervously. "My first class is in room 267, do you know where that is?"
"I do actually. We have the same class, English right?" He smiled while motioning me to follow him. I nodded in response as we both walked inside a classroom.
"My name is Cesar by the way. What's yours?"
"It's (Y/n)." I smiled as we both sat in a desk next to each other. I pulled out my notebook just in case we actually learned something.
Throughout my first period nothing really happened. I sat there as the teacher just went over a review.
Thanks a lot dad. I thought bitterly. I just wanted to be home!
"Hey (Y/n)." Cesar whispered. I turned to look at him, urging him to go on. "I can walk you home if you'd like. Your new so you can meet my friends."
"Yeah sure, that'd be great." I smiled gratefully.

I walked out of the school while looking for Cesar. It turns out we had three other classes together. He had told me to come meet him out here and he would walk me home.
I texted my dad that he didn't have to pick me up. I'm sure he was glad to hear that. Him and his lazy ass.
"(Y/n), over here!" I heard Cesar say. I turned around to see him and three other teens. I smiled awkwardly and made my way to them.
"This is (Y/n)." Cesar smiled. I nodded my head while giving everyone a smile.
"Hey I'm Jamal." One of the boys said with a big grin on his face. Well he seemed friendly.
"I'm Ruby." The shorter one said.
"And I'm Monse. Nice to have another girl in the group." She smiled. I was glad to meet them. I guess dad was right, I would meet some friends.
The five of us walked to the neighborhood that we all lived in. I was pretty happy they all lived close. As we walked, we would crack a few jokes here and there. It felt like I actually belonged.
Jamal, Ruby, And Monse all left as we continued walking. Now it was just me and Cesar since his house was next and mine was the farthest out of the five of us. A few minutes had gone by until we made it to his home.
"I'll see you tomorrow, right?" Cesar asked. I was about to respond until a deep voice cut me off.
"Aye! Who's the new hyna, Cesar?" Said an older guy with the same buzz cut as him. He walked down from the porch as he kept his eyes on me.
"Oscar, go back inside." Cesar said while rolling his eyes. I could tell he didn't like the was Oscar was looking at me. I stood there awkwardly, scared of what might happen if I moved.
"Nah little bro, this is my house. I don't gotta go inside, but you can." Oscar laughed while wrapping an arm around Cesar's shoulders roughly. I wasn't sure if he was nice or just being an annoying brother.
"Your making her uncomfortable." Cesar warmed. Oscar lifted his eyebrows a bit before giving a softer smile to me.
"Sorry. I'm Spooky by the way, but you can call me Oscar. Only for the pretty ladies of course." He winked. I blushed at his words. He was pretty cute, not gonna lie.
"Nice to meet you. Bye Cesar." I waved to my new friend. Cesar gave me a grin as he returned the gesture.
"Bye princessa! I hope to see you around!" Oscar yelled as he smiled at me. This one looked genuine. I laughed before waving at him too.
"Why her?" I overheard Cesar tell his older brother.
"What? I'd honestly make her mine, I definitely don't want to miss out on her fine ass."
