Mia waited until her mother fell asleep to leave and when she did. She gave her a soft kiss on her forehead. She looked at her for a few minutes and then cleaned up. After everything was okay. She walked out of the room.

As she walked down the hallway. She noticed how quiet it was, probably because visiting hours were over three hours ago. She was the only one who was allowed to come in late. She had asked one of the doctors if she could come in late due to her work schedule.
She took a turn to her left and stopped when she came to a familiar door.
She knocked softly and heard a "come in"
Composing herself for who she was about to meet. She swallowed audibly and then slowly walked in.

" Uh Mia, come in please," Mr Rodriguez said as his eyes lit up with her presence.
Closing the door behind her slowly. She walked towards his desk.
" Take a seat please," Mr Rodriguez said as he gestured his hand towards the chair. Mia gave him a small hesitant smile. She took her seat and then looked at him.

" How may I help you," he asked with a smirk on his face as if he didn't know why she was there.

" Uh...I I I we want to know how my mother is" she asked while playing with her fingers on her lap.
A smirk formed on Mr Rodriguez's face. She waited for his response but he still didn't say anything.
Lening into his chair. He run his hand into his white hair and then chuckled.
" Is that all you wanna know" Mr Rodriguez said as he smiled at her.
Mia's nose scrunched in confusion as she tried to figure out what else she wanted to know other than her mother's health.

"Yes sir," Mia said politely.
Mr Rodriguez sighed. He got off his chair. He walked towards Mia and then stood next to her.

" Well, she's okay......for now... Though she has been having seizures here and there, she's okay" Mr Rodriguez said.

Her heart broke into a million pieces as she tried to register the words. The doctor may have said that her mother was fine but still she felt sad. Seizure always ended up with death and if her mother had more than one seizure, then who knows if she would survive the next one.

" You don't have to worry that much. She's fine. You know I won't let anything happen to her" Mr Rodriguez said when he sensed the distressed look on her face.
Mia slowly nodded as she tried to keep her tears in.

" But .....
Mr Rodriguez trailed off as his hand slowly touched Mia's cheek and slowly caressed her cheek.
Disgust filled up her entire body. She immediately moved her face away from his cold hands.

" If only you had agreed to what I told you. Your mother would have been out of her misery by mow...but my offer still stands" Mr Rodriguez said as his eyes took in every feature on her body.
Mia looked around uncontrollably, trying to avoid his eyes. She didn't like being around him, not even a little bit. But unfortunately, he was the doctor who was running her mother's case.
He was the only doctor who was willing to receive the payments little by little and for that she was grateful.
But one thing that bothered her was the way he acted when they were alone. The way he sometimes touched without her permission.
He had proposed on a deal she swore she would never agree to no matter how desperate she was.

" Mr Rodriguez I ........

" Philip...not Mr Rodriguez" Mr Rodriguez corrected her with a smirk on his face.
She sighed and then rubbed her hands slowly.
" M... Philip I I I I already told you that I won't ever agree to the.........
