i lost my voice to battery acid.
jolting up in sudden pumps from my iron belly,
rusting the pipes and the music-box.
eternally missing the songs i once could sing—
not even the tuning fork can fix this.
white noise and distorted melody,
like the chalk on a blackboard, or knife scraping the plate.
jitters from my rotting maw.
twitching, the fault is me.
it's my self destructive tendency.
