I'm wide awake,
staring up at a vast dark sky.
thousands of twinkling stars stare back at me.
I trace your face with them,
to see you smile down at me.
night skies always have this sense of peace,
this sense of truth.

I know your somewhere, somewhere,
I've been stuck thinking about you,
I can't hold on. .

and I feel the moonlight

and  it feels like your destined...

to be up there ,
smiling down on all of us, forever.

and how can it not be so,
how can we forget,
wisdom so far ahead of its time,
you became our voice,
in an increasingly dark, desolate world,
you became our light, our truth.

despite all the darkness that engulfed you,
you fought it all, to still shine bright,
not for yourself, but for us.
the lost and misunderstood.
you believed in us, in all of us.
to the very end.
how can we ever let you down,
how can we ever let you go.
