13. Pieces

My words pierced my own heart
Knowing they are the reason
we fell apart.
Sometimes I regret saying them
Watching you and me break into pieces we couldn't mend.

Pieces are all we left
Scattered over the memories
we hope could melt.
We knew this would happen someday
But you never dreamt it to be today.

Like night and moon
You were the glow of my noon.
A glow which turned into a speck
Once the pieces became a wreck.

Always knew lies of my own
Would one day turn into the ocean in which you could drown.
Hate me you should must
Those lies, those pieces took away your trust.

Heart broken into two
Your pain will get over soon.
As for me, the pieces will
further break
Until the water dries in the lake.
