21. Love and Pain
I saw you with her that day
It hurt more than I could say.
She whispered something
in your ear and you smiled
You looked happy, no matter how much I denied.
I started to walk past you
Focusing my eyes
towards my shoe.
Then I heard my name
And my heart stopped beating
while the memories came.
We stared at each other
No words we could utter.
My lips quivered
And you suffered.
Our love was never eternal
It was a fantasy which I could only treasure in my journal.
An ethereal fantasy
Our broken destiny.
I saw her hand
slipping into yours
And your eyes met hers.
Love was when I met you
Pain was when you looked back
while you walked away
from me...
