Diana avoided Jack like the plague over the next few days. With her junior year of college around the corner turned her attention to the new semester insight. Diana was currently shopping for notebooks. She held the basket on her left wrist and moved in and out of the aisle, looking for anything that might come in hand for the upcoming year. She threw in a handful of pens and several sticky tabs while looking for some more notebooks. Although she had her laptop with her, sometimes a good old-fashioned pen and paper were all you needed.

Diana paid for her things and threw as much as she could in her backpack carrying the remaining in her hands as she returned home. Across the traffic-filled streets, in and out, many people crowd up the roads. Many people were running; this was a typical summer pour that would flood the streets of New York City.

It was raining hard, making it very difficult for Diana to see where she was going. Her light summer dress was soaked through as she walked onto her street. She fumbles around with her keys, trying to unlock the first door into the building where she can try and be safe and dry from this horrid rain. As she opens the door, she hears her name and sees Jack standing just a few meters away from him. Pausing for a moment, she usings her head to direct him to follow into the small tower block.

The two of them shake a little bit, both trying to dry their hair, having both been surprised by the small shower storm. Diana locked the door behind her and looked at Jack, and said.

"Tommy and Sophie have gone away from the weekend. They haven't had time yet to celebrate their engagement yet."  Jack knew this fact but didn't say anything for a few moments. The two of them just looked at one another.

"I know he told me. I wanted to see how you were doing. No one has seen you out or heard from you in a while." Diana smiles at him weakly before leading him up the stairs to her door. She was doing her best to flatten her hair; as much as she should be vain, she couldn't help but think about the state she must be in due to this rain. She knew there was no point in trying to get him to leave her alone that wouldn't work. It wasn't that she had been busy or anything like that; it had been the opposite. She spent more of her days sitting in her apartment, trying her best to get into a good headspace. Hannah had been right; she had been spending the last year going too hard and fast, and now she was trying to take the time to get to know herself and become a better person. She would burn out if she didn't take some time; she would keep hurting herself unless she focused on things like school and her mental health.
