New Life

I walked up the large staircase. As soon as I got to the top I dropped my bags and put me hands oh my knees. "Oh dear Jesus." I panted.

I finally regained my breath and lugged my shit to the room my mom said would be mine. "Last door on the right." I kept repeating to myself.

It was a decent sized room. A bit bigger than my old room. There was a big window with a window seat. "Hmm not bad." I whispered.

All my boxes and furniture were already there. Mom must have sent it when I was at Robert's the last few weeks. Oh. Robert. My heart felt a pang. I quickly pulled out my phone and called him.

It rang twice. "Hey baby." I instantly smiled at his groggy voice.

"Hey hon. Did I wake you?" Well obviously.

He cleared his throat a bit, "no, no! I was already up."

"Don't lie." I grinned.

I heard him chuckle through the phone. "Fine. Ya got me." I smiled.

"How are you baby?"

"I'm okay. I miss you."

"I miss you too baby. More than anything." My eyes watered. "But hey we are gonna be okay."

"I know babe. I just--- SHIT!" He yelled and I could hear beeping.

"Baby?! Are you okay?!" What the hell

There was a pause before he answered, "Yeah yeah babe I'm fine. I just.... I kinda just..."

"Baby you what"

" I may or may not have just burnt a pot of coffee."

"WOOOOOOW" I yelled laughing hysterically.

"It's not funny!"

"Hell yes it is!! How does one BURN a pot of coffee?!"

"You have been making the coffee lately and I got distracted..."

"Oh hush. You big goof." I chuckled. "I love you anyways."

"Good. I love you too."

"Renee!! Come help with boxes!!"

"Oh shit. Baby I gotta go. I'll call u later?"

"Okay honey. I love you."

"Love you too."

With that we hung up the phone and my heart broke yet again.

What the hell am I going to do.
