Chapter 10

Perrie

It's been a couple of days sense the doctors appointment and Niall seems to be opening up a bit. Every now and then he will speak but it's still only one word responses. He still has accidents every night so we are still using pull ups, and he seems to be okay with using a sippy cup. Overall I would say everything is going okay for us.

It's currently around 10 in the morning right now and I'm just now getting breakfast for everyone because of many reasons. First, Niall had a nightmare and woke up screaming and crying, Then, Louis came in when I calmed Niall down and told me he didn't feel very well so I had to sort him out, then Zayn got a call from the social worker about some kind of court hearing or something that might take place. It's all been a bit hectic so breakfast wasn't really the first thing on my list this morning.

"Mom, when is LiLi getting here?" Harry asks as he walks into the kitchen. Oh! Did I forget to mention that today is the day Liam decided he would come over? I just hope the day evens out and calms back down a bit.

"Um, I think he said around three or so." I say as I continue scrambling some eggs.

"Okay, thanks." He says before leaving the room.

Right now it's just me and Niall in the kitchen. I sat him in his booster seat before I started cooking and he has been watching cartoons on my phone the whole time. I know it's not good to let your kids watch too much tv but It's so nice to hear him giggle every now and then, even if it's barely audible.

"Hey love, I just got off the phone with the Social worker again, she said the court hearing is sounding more and more possible. Apparently there is a grandma or something and she wants to try and gain custody. Right now we're only fostering so we'll have to file for adoption if we want to even stand a chance in this thing." He says while hugging me from behind.

"Well, what are you doing here then? Go and file for adoption right now, at least call the social worker back and let her know that we're doing it because if you think for one minute that I'm letting my baby go after I just got him then you are sadly mistaken sir." I say as he chuckles and kisses my cheek.

"Babe, I already told her that. She said for us to meet with her tomorrow morning and she will set everything up. She said we have a good chance in winning, but she hasn't heard much about the grandma yet. She's looking into it while we speak though."

"Okay good. I love you." I turn my head and give him a peck just as I hear a round of giggles. As I turn around I see Harry playing with Niall and it's such a sweet moment. I can't lose my baby,I just can't.

"That was a good breakfast, thanks mom" Harry says as he starts getting up and takes his plate to the sink. Louis didn't come down because he said he was feeling a bit nauseous.

"Thank you Harry, you're so sweet. What do you want?" I ask as he frowns and Zayn laughs.

"How did you know I wanted something?" He asks with a pout.

"Because Harry, I know you." I say with a smile and he smiles as well.

"Well, I was just wondering if I could go to my friends house tomorrow. He's having a party and Sarah will be there so I wanted to go." He says with a small blush.

"What friend is it?" I ask as he looks down at his feet.

"Tony. But mom, his mom will be home so it won't be out of hand, I promise!" He says, knowing my answer already.

"Sorry baby, you know how I feel about him. Plus, I think you forgot that I have his mother on Facebook and she just posted yesterday  about a trip her and her husband are going on.  Next time you try to lie like that make sure you're information is full proof. Actually, better yet, just don't lie." I say before getting up to wipe Niall's face and clean up the table.

"Oh, well... okay." He says defeated. Just as he was about to sulk off to his room the door opened and in comes Liam.

"LiLi!" Harry says as he runs towards his favorite uncle.

"Hazzybear!" Liam shouts as he hugs Harry.

"Hey! I said to stop calling me that!" Harry says with a smile.

"And who is this little guy? I thought you said he was six or something." Liam says to Zayn as he notices how small Niall is.

"Yeah, well he's a bit on the small side, but we're working on it right bud? Hey Niall, do you wanna meet your uncle LiLi?" Zayn says as he picks Niall up from his seat.

"Hey Niall, I've heard so many great things about you." Liam says with a soft smile. "I even got you something." Liam pulls out a box of hot wheel cars that comes with a track.

Niall's eyes instantly scan over the toy, finding interest in the colorful box. "What do you say we go to the family room with LiLi and we set it up and play some, hm?" Zayn says as he leads them to the family room.

While they set up the toy cars I decide now would be a good time to check on Louis. As I climb the stairs and make my way to his bedroom I hear something from one of the bathrooms. Upon further inspection, I find Louis throwing up with tear tracks down his eyes.

"Oh love, you're okay, it will be over soon." I sooth as he finishes getting sick. After I clean him up we silently make our way back to his room and I decide to check his temperature.

"Mom, I really don't feel good." He moans and holds his stomach.

"I know love, you have a pretty high fever, which means you probably need to drink lots of liquids." I say as he wines into his pillow. "I guess I'll let you sleep a bit longer before I force you into drinking much, but I do want at leas half this glass drank before you go back to sleep okay?" I say as he groans.

"But mom!" He wines, holding out the "o".

"I know, I know. But I don't want to have to take you to the hospital due to dehydration. Now drink at least half of this and I'll let you go back to sleep." I say. After about five more minutes of coaching him into drinking something he finally does, which makes me happy and him a little queezy.

"Can I sleep now?"

"Yes you can." I get up and leave the room, quietly shutting the door on my way out and I stop to watch everyone else in the family room. Liam has Niall in his lap while Harry and Zayn are sitting across from them also playing with the cars. The thing that shocked me the most was how comfortable Niall was with Liam. It took us a full day before he would look at us let alone sit in our laps and play with cars.

"Look mom, the track makes the cars go super fast! I even got some of my old ones and we're finding the fastest ones!" Harry says. Sometimes he likes to act like an adult but other times he likes to go back to his toy loving self, especially when "uncle LiLi" comes by.
