Cyrus through his phone across the floor. There was no way he was reading it correctly.
Slowly Cyrus picked up his phone again and looked at the picture.

Buffy looked at her phone. Holding it one hand, a basketball in the other. She stood On the court ready for her one on one with TJ.
Andi's not coming. Her heart sank at those words. There was no way she was going to make it now.
How could she ditch Buffy like that? Especially with TJ Kippens sister! Buffy sighed and started dribbling the ball.
"Are you okay Buff, you're pounding the ball into the ground." Cyrus said coming up to her. Buffy stopped. "I'm fine Cy." she threw the ball at TJ side of the court.
"Hey Kippen! Let's do this already!" She yelled. Tj looked up from his phone, "in a second!" He continued texting. Buffy sighed and started shooting another ball.
TJ sent a message to Walker
Tj: dude why didn't you tell us you were bi??
Walker: I was scared of how you guys would react
Tj: you're kidding right?
Walker: ?
Tj: Seriously? Amber's literally the most out lesbian in the world
Walker: I was more thinking about you..
Tj: wdym?
Walker: well it's just that, every time amber brings up the LGBT community you kind of shut it off...
Tj: oh god, you're right
Tj: I screwed up, I'm sorry
Walker: for what? It's okay if you have a different opinion, just as long as you're not hurting anybody
Tj: no
Tj: it's just...
TJ's thumb faltered over the send button on his next text. He suddenly pulled out his photos and selected a half decent photo. He opened instagram and posted the picture. Without thinking he typed in his caption and hit send.
Tj: check instagram
It's done, and there's no going back. (I mean he could just delete the post, but anyway)
"Driscoll! Let's do this!" TJ yelled. "Finally!" Buffy sighed, she made her way to the center, looking TJ dead in the eye. Of course they were playing full court, half courts for losers (no it's not but it's Buffy and TJ we're talking about)
"You ready Kippen?" Buffy challenged. "Game on." Tj replied. He through the ball in the air and the game started.
Cyrus settled into a seat in the empty stands. "Go Buffy!" He cheered ever so often.
So far they were tied, 14-14. Buffy chased TJ down the court while he sprinted to the hoop. He made an easy lay up, and Cyrus found himself clapping for some reason. That's wierd...
Although Cyrus tried to focus on Buffy's amazing skills, he couldn't help but notice TJ as well. He had nearly as good as a form as Buffy. And he looked so natural on the court. Cyrus couldn't help but also see how fit he was in his singlet.
No! Cyrus we're not going there, Andi is already hanging out with Amber, liking TJ would be the final straw.
Since the game was first to 20, both Buffy and TJ were really pushing it. 18-18, the next basket would win.
"Let's go!" Cyrus shouted to nobody in particular, becuase now he didn't know who he was really rooting for now...
Buffy was panting and TJ was sweating bullets, yet they were both still giving it 100 percent. Cyrus would have pretty much quit after 2 minuets.
Tj was blocked by Buffy and she stole the ball. She pounded the ball and ran as fast as she could.
Going for a jump shot, Buffy realised the ball.
It kept spinning around the rim until.
Swish.
20-18. Buffy.
"Whooooo!" Buffy shouted, Cyrus ran up to her. "You won!" He cheered, hugging Buffy. "Obviously." She laughed.
They unembraced (is that a word?..) to the sound of somebody clapping. But there was no-one else on the court except...
Tj was clapping, Tj Kippen was clapping, like without sarcasm. "That was a good game Driscoll." He held out his hand.
Buffy stood there shocked for A second, before shaking TJ's hand. "You did a good job, we'll have to have a rematch," she said lightly.
Cyrus's jaw dropped. Buffy never gave anyone a rematch. And Tj never acted like this in middle school.
"You've changed Kippen," Buffy said with a smile.
"So have you," He replied. Both of them high fived and then parted their separate ways.
Cyrus turned around one more time to see TJ looking at him from behind as well. Maybe Tj isn't so bad. Cyrus thought. He put his arm around Buffy's shoulder as they left the court.
"Come on let's go get milkshakes to celebrate."

Cyrus lay on his bed later that night scrolling through instagram. He isn't doing anything particular. It's not like he was following TJ again, who hadn't unfollowed Cyrus.
"Cyrus dinner!" His mom called from the kitchen. "Coming!" He left the room.
But later he went right back to his phone. He saw a new post appear on the screen.
