Chapter 1

Danielles pov
HI my name is Danielle Jackson but my friends call me Dani for short and Micayla is my self given name . I'm 14yrs old black American, my mom and I just moved to California from New York city. My parents divorced because my dad became addicted to drugs when we didn't have money and started abusing my mom. Today my mom is making me take dance lessons hoping that i make '' friends ''. But I really don't want to because I really dont know how to dance and if I try I look like a fish out of water or a potato with legs 😑. Im currently in my room unpacking my last few boxes when I hear my mom yell from down stairs.

Mom: (shouts )Are you ready to go!?!?
Dani: Yeah mom!!
Mom: Ok lets go!!!
Dani: okay mom meet me in the car in 5 minutes!
Mom: okay lovie!!!

*50 minutes later*

Me and my mom get out of of the car and my first impression is...

Dani: DAMN this place is huge

Like I mean it could be as big as my neighborhood 🤐

Dani: yes mom🙄

We head up to the front desk.

Receptionist: hi how can I help you?

Mom: umm here for my daughter's dance lessons... Uhhh well she's new
Receptionist :okay then please fill in these information forms.
Mom: okay

Me and my went to a bench and filled in our phone numbers, address and etc. As soon as we were done we headed back to the receptionist

Receptionist:thank you so much Danielle Jackson , okay well head over to room number 258 it's the 3rd floor on the right corner
Mom:ohhh thanks

Me and my mom head over to a room that had the number 258 on it.

Dani :(takes a deep breath 😤) here goes nothing.

I open the door and all eyes are on me. The dance instructer came up to me.

Instructer :hi my name is Annalise and here's my partner Matt.

Pointing at a man walking up to us.

Matt: hi you have to be the new student
Dani: uhh yeah
Annalise: ohhh yes... Ummm we are just getting ready just go put your stuff away then join us when you ready... Cool?
Dani: okay thnx... Bye mom
Mom : bye honey(kissed me on the cheek and left)

After I put my stuff away I went to the back and bumped into a little boy

Dani: uhh sorry my bad
The boy: yeah you better be sorry watch where you going lady

I head back to where the other students ... Or well dancers were getting ready. Then I looked around and saw Matt walk up to me

Matt: hi ummm... I came to tell you that you will be partnering up with kida the great he is in the corner on the right over there (pointing at a boy wearing all black and a colorful jacket with a Supreme hair band)

~Ain't go lie he wasn't that bad... But still I have to partner up with a guy I don't know at all😥~

Dani: okay thnx

I rolled my eyes and walked away
