When the news hit you that both you and Pyrrha were accepted into Beacon, you were both excited to see your friend but annoyed that your rival had arrived with you. But, at the end of the day, this was how things were meant to be. A long annoying series of events. But that didn't matter for the moment. You and your father had packed up your gear and personal items and got your ready for Beacon.

Pyrrha's mother was nice enough to grant you availability to join Pyrrha on their flight to Beacon from Mistral. You knew it was nothing more than a PR move to continue the high end Nikos perception of things. Everyone involved knew that. So, for now, it was all a matter of playing along. You had loaded everything on your part of the airship and was waiting outside, saying your goodbyes. You couldn't help but hug your father goodbye. He had given you everything and now, it just seemed appropriate.

You glanced over at Pyrrha and her family. Rather than a loving goodbye, her father pecked her forehead and hugged for a few moments before sending her on her way. Pyrrha's mother placed a hand on her shoulder and wished her off. You were a bit confused but understood. All about appearance. You and Pyrrha got onto the ship and took off towards Beacon.

Pyrrha: (Y/N)? Aren't you excited?

(Y/N): Of course I am. I'm just not showing it.

Pyrrha: Is there a reason why?

(Y/N): Not really. Just don't feel like showing it.

Pyrrha: What do you think it will be like?! Or the food?! Or the people? The culture, acts for the Vytal Festival and-

(Y/N): Pyrrha. Will you relax?

Pyrrha: S-sorry. Didn't mean to be-

(Y/N): Yeah. I got it. Look, just relax for a little while longer. We'll be at Beacon in no time. Ok?

Pyrrha: Ok. Perhaps we could play a game?

(Y/N): What did you have in mind?

Pyrrha smirked and the games began. You were originally thinking it was going to be physical challenge but she actually offered you a video game. If there was one thing you knew you could beat Pyrrha in it was video games. The two of you played for around a hour of fighting match after match. You were easily beating Pyrrha and seeing her a bit frustrated did make you smile. The entire time, you could see Pyrrha smile and laugh along with you. Soon enough, you and Pyrrha were at Beacon Academy.

The two of you got off of the ship and gasped at the overall majesticness of the scene. The main tower was massive and you only had one possible way of describing it.

(Y/N): Damn. Color me impressed.

Pyrrha: (Y/N), language.

(Y/N): (Sarcastically) Oh geez, I'm sorry. Man, you don't-

You turned back and saw Pyrrha looking a bit uneasy. You also noticed some had formed a small group around her, asking for autographs and pictures. You sighed and walked over.

(Y/N): Alright, alright. Break it up, we've all got places to be.

You grabbed Pyrrha's hand and she eagerly and quickly began to follow you.

Woman: What are you, her boyfriend or something?! I thought you hated her!

You remain silent and got Pyrrha out of the crazed mob. You guided her over to a small spot along a wall and let her go while you checked out for followers.

(Y/N): I think we're good. Man, even out here you still got crazy fans. Right? Pyrrha?

You turned back to Pyrrha and saw her look a bit sadden. You grew a sympathetic look and tapped her shoulder. She seemed to shock herself back to reality and got her back straight.

Pyrrha: Oh, yes. Sorry, it seems that I-

(Y/N): Pyrrha. Is everything ok? You've been like this before.

Pyrrha: Yes, I am just fine, (Y/N). Thank you for your worry but it's not needed.

(Y/N): Right. Forgot who I was talking to. (Pyrrha looks down again but you don't notice) We should probably head inside to this entry speech. Let's roll.

You were about to walk off until something pulled you back. You look back and saw Pyrrha still gripped your hand. You both looked back at one another and blushed heavily before letting go and laughing awkwardly a bit. You gripped the back of your neck while Pyrrha looked at the ground.

(Y/N): Uh, sorry about that. It seemed-

Pyrrha: NO! I mean, no. It wasn't your fault. I blame myself. And-and you're right. We should get going. Come on!

Pyrrha got up, grabbed your hand and dragged you out to the amphitheater for orientation. You gave small protest, but you also couldn't help but laugh as well. You two entered the hall and Ozpin gave off his speech to the new first years. You noticed a few students from all around the world were here as well. You stayed beside Pyrrha and almost acted like her security guard at all times. Afterwards, everyone was sent into the ballroom for the night and or to explore campus.

You and Pyrrha walked around the place and you being the security guy you were, you got some of Pyrrha's crazy fans away from her. At the end of the night, you were in the ballroom and made yourself a sandwich for dinner. You were off in a corner trying to get some peace and quiet. You looked around and saw a few people giving you stares and a few girls giving you flirty looks, or however flirting worked.

You shook them off and had your dinner and got ready for the night. Once you got back from the bathroom, you saw that there was another bag beside yours. You then saw Pyrrha walk back and sit down on the bag. You were a bit surprised since you assumed she would be elsewhere conversing with some of the "popular" people. Once she saw you, she gave you a smile and patted your bag.

Pyrrha: It's good to see you still use the same sleeping bag for years.

(Y/N): If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

It wasn't until you sat down did you notice that Pyrrha had her hair down and scattered. You had to admit, she did look beautiful. Then again, she always did and-knock it off brain. At the end of the day, she was still your rival. If you want to be successful, you had to beat her. You laid down on your bag and turned over away from Pyrrha.

Pyrrha: Uh, (Y/N)?

(Y/N): (Groans) Yes?

Pyrrha: Cards?

Your eyes widen and you sat up. Pyrrha had actually brought her card deck to Beacon. Now that was surprising. You smirked and sat and faced her, giving her your "game face". She was more than happy to deal you in and play some hands with you. While you still held a bitter rivalry with Pyrrha, it was always fun to play a game of cards with her. Like the video game from earlier that day, she was easily annoyed by losing yet, she still had a smile on her face.

The first few hands played to your favor, but it wasn't enough as Pyrrha clearly came in and won the next two games of "31". After the first two games were complete, each player was tied. So you two did a finishing round. You both were laying down great hands left and right. Finally, the fifth and final hand was dealt. The intensity was high enough as is but it was still perfect for the two of you. However, just you were about to claim victory, someone shut off the lights and blew out some candles. You were annoyed but Pyrrha didn't seem to mind as much.

After that, you both got into your bags. You glanced over to Pyrrha and saw her kinda jittery. So, you began to softly hum the song that she would use to calm you down. She glanced over to you and smiled softly before the two of you both went to sleep.
