Camden

Maxime and I paused at the open door, to see a policeman cuffing Alex while his partner read off his rights.

"Oh, cool!" I shouted, dropping my baseball bat. "Those are neat ears!" The partner stopped rattling off, and glared at me, placing a hand on his hip.

His ears were like human ears, but elongated and sharp.

"Sir, I'm an elf. It's a given I have 'weird' ears."

The man cuffing Alex chortled, before slapping Alex on the back.

Alistair stepped out from behind the officer.

"Baby!" I squealed, running to him. He grabbed me mid-air, and wrapped me around him like a koala.

"Ugh. Its gross watching my ex and my nephew get cuddly." Maxime stuck his tongue out.

I glared at him, before turning back to Alistair. "Why did you hire him? He brings nothing to the table except bad memories. After all that shit, why do you trust him?"

The corner of his mouth twitched into a smile. "He can be in sunlight without burning."

I stared at my uncle, who was eye-raping the policemen. I rolled my eyes.

"I'm glad to be back. I missed you, babe." I kissed him, and he held me impossibly closer to him.

He broke, and buried his face in my neck.

"Only the Lord knows how much I missed you." His voice was husky and deep, like smoke.

"Go ahead."

I felt the unmistakable pain of being bit in the nape of my neck. I gasped, clutching his shoulders, my nails digging into the delicate skin beneath his atypical Polo shirt.

The one I bought him. I thought with a smirk, pressing my lips to his neck.

I felt his fangs pull put of my throat, before he lapped at the broken skin.

"Do you have anything to ask before he gets hauled away, love?"

I stared at Alex's burning eyes which still burned the flame of desire brightly.

"Who are you, really?"

"Alexander the Third of Macedon." He displayed his fangs proudly.

Alexander The Great?

"I'm sorry, what? Am I going deaf? Senile? Ali!" I cried. "Am I getting old?"

"Made a deal with the devil." Alexander murmured. "In return I got my name in the books, and the insufferable need to fuck everything, like a mere dog." He growled.

"You sound like one."

He flipped off Maxime.

"Why me? Out of everyone in the universe?"

He smirked, menacingly. "You were easy. Plus you remind me of a sex slave I had once. Calisto."

I balked. "Excuse me?" I drew out the 'u'. "I am not easy! Tell him, Ali."

Ali paled. "Umm...well..."

"You're easier than destroying people's lives, Camden." Maxime giggled.

I rolled my eyes.

"Take him away, officers!" I cheered. They stared at me blankly.

"We don't take orders from you, child. Move."

The werewolf, Officer Morgan, hauled Alex onto his shoulder.

His partner, Officer Locklear, the elf, flipped his long, black and sleek ponytail onto his shoulder.

"We hope to not have to deal with another situation like this again. Keep your mate under lock and key, vampire." His dark eyes glared into Alistair's soul.

Locklear shut the door behind him loudly.

I placed my cheek on Alistair's chest. "Take me home, husband."

He kissed my fingertips.

"With pleasure."
