Just three seconds of some sort of stinging reluctance after, I told you what you did.
"So what, Rae? So what if I loved them before you? So what if I had a relationship with those girls before? What matters is I love you. And that is present tense."
I blinked hard, letting the last of my tears flow before I snapped back. "Look, I don't care if you had a bunch of girlfriends way back from the past. Stare at this white wall behind me, and look for the fucks I give to them. But the thing is, Neil, is that you lied to me."
I shook my head, not believing that I would be reaching this point of time, that I would be living in this moment, and allowing it to kill every corner of my insides.
I mumbled it again, but this time, a lot more softer. "You lied to me."
