Chapter 19:
She ignored me when we got to school.
I wanted to ask her why.
But I didn’t.
She wasn’t in Social Studies today.
She wasn’t in lunch either.
I saw her in the hallway.
She was sitting in the part where no one ever came.
I walked over to her.
I sat down.
I asked her what was wrong
She didn’t answer.
She was crying.
I asked her again.
She looked up.
She asked if I liked her.
I said I did.
I didn’t regret it.
She didn’t say anything.
I wanted her to.
Instead she leaned into me.
So there we were.
Me an her.
Sitting in an empty hallway.
