Brother's Best Friend

Chapter 24

Not even 10 minutes since we left Calais, Eren was already bugging me. Its like he forget i told him to shut up.

I have my ear phones in as try to read one of my books but all i can feel is him jabbing my shoulder. I try to ignore him but it gets to a point where i couldn't even concentrate on what i was reading anymore.

I yank my earphones out and turn to him, showing how pissed off i am in my expression

"Ah, finally. I thought I'd be poking you forever" he sighs, rolling his head back

"You know when i told you to shut up i meant for the entire journey" I say to him calmly with a forced smile. 

I look at him from the corner of my eye and my head turns only slightly in his direction. He had his head rested inches away from my shoulder and was looking intently at my page. I notice his lips moving only barely and i instantly slam my book closed, making him jump 

"That's rude" he grumbles with a small pout on his lips that almost made me want to open the book again and let him read it

"What do you want, Eren?" i ask him with reluctance in my voice. He must have known by the sound of my voice that i really couldn't care for the answer

"I'm just bored. What're you reading?" I feel his head now connect with my shoulder as he rests it comfortably in my personal space. 

I grip the pages of my book as i open it, far too aware of his head on my bare shoulder, but i wasn't making any efforts to shake him off

"You won't like it" i tell him bluntly. He reaches forward and flicks the book to the side to look at the blurb and i groan, forcefully pushing it back to the side again, nearly crushing his fingers

"I read. I'm literate. I got A's in English literature" he lists off and i roll my eyes.

What is he trying to prove?

I give up anyway, far too tired to argue with him now. Maybe once i tell him and he looses interest, he'll shut up and leave me alone 

"It's based in a dystopian society where a team of 4 strangers get thrown together and are tasked to fight monsters and rebuild destroyed towns" i try to explain it in a way that wouldn't sound boring to him, because him saying he reads is the biggest lie going. 

To my surprise, however, he's watching me with full interest. Wow. He must be really bored. But hes actually paying attention to what I'm saying, so I carry on

"The main guy just went down for this other guy. It's got me so gripped" i say unable to contain my excitement now someone was actually listening to my fangirling 

"He went down on a guy?" Eren asks scrunching up his nose, looking up at me in slight disgust. Poor choice of wording, Addy

"NO! He took a hit for another guy, sacraficed himself sort of deal. But he isnt dead, just badly injured" i try to recover and Eren just looks at me with a smirk on his face. Thinking about it now though...

"Actually… what you said might just happen. The main guy is giving off seriously gay vibes if I'm honest" i chuckle as Eren retracts his head from my shoulder 

"You sold me at monsters but you lost me again" he says with disappointment clear in his tone. 

I pout and pretend to be sorry for him. But i don't for long because i shrug and put my earphones in, blocking him out again so i can continue reading my book

Eren left me in peace after that… for a solid five minutes then he was back to jabbing me again.

I was determind to ignore him this time. I was too into what was happing in my story to even care right now. All the drama, i love it.
