Jade's POV

The first five minutes of our ride to the bowling alley Robbie told us about were comfortable, but now it was starting to get awkward.

"Mind if I turn on the radio?" I asked, trying to maybe lower the tension between us

Though I really don't know why it was so tense, I mean, I got the girl flowers, weren't we supposed to be in a good vibe? Why the hell is it so freaking awkward?

"No" she said mindlessly, her head seemed to be somewhere else

Glitter in the Air by Pink started playing and she suddenly snapped back to reality. She started singing beautifully, just like she always did

Have you ever fed a lover with just your hands?
Closed your eyes and trusted, just trusted?
Have you ever thrown a fist full of glitter in the air?
Have you ever looked fear in the face and said
"I just don'tcare?"

It's only half past the point of no return
The tip of the iceberg, the sun before the burn
The thunder before the lightning, the breath before the phrase
Have you ever felt this way?

It was amazing how she basically sang the song like she owned it, and with such passion. It was the most beautiful sound I've ever heard in my entire life, nothing like I'd ever seen. And I just had to sing with her

Have you ever hated yourself for staring at thephone?
Yourwhole lifewaiting on the ring to prove you're not alone
Have you ever been touched so gently you had to cry?
Have you ever invited a stranger tocomeinside?

It's only half past the point of oblivion
The hourglass on the table, the walk before the run
The breath before the kiss, and the fear before the flames
Have you ever felt this way?

Tori's POV

I knew that when Jade started singing I'd be completely mesmerized; I always was when she sang. It was an angelic voice, and liked it. When she sang, it was like I could see her soul, feel her deepest fears, concerns and insecurities. It was a side of her I hoped would never go away. I liked this side of Jade

We sang together the rest of the song. We just melted into it, but Jade was singing with such heart and passion, and I had the urge to cry, her voice and emotions were so powerful. They hit me like a tons of bricks, but it didn't even hurt. I never wanted it to end; but unfortunately, even the best songs have to end.

"Jade" I asked through the sound of the radio still playing in the car

"Uhmm" she acknowledged me

"How come you don't let people let see this side of you?" I said

She said nothing, only took a deep breath and seemed to think for a good while before she answered me

"Tori," she started looking at me for a brief moment "You can never give anyone the power to break you, and when you let people see you for what you really are, they can always use that against you. You can never open yourself up to any vulnerability, unless..."

"Unless what?" I asked taking her hand

"Unless you're sure you're not gonna be hurt, but there's no way to know" she finished

I gave her hand a squeeze "Well, I don't know about everyone else, but I won't hurt you. We're friends, you can trust me"

I heard her mumble something, but I didn't wanna pry. She seemed fairly upset, and I thought I saw a sad look in her eyes, but with Jade there was no way to know, she was a really good actress who could hide her emotions very well.
