'Grandma presley didn't take kindly to Elvis's Private Zoo, and it wasn't uncommon to see her walking through the house grumbling and spraying the paths of the animals with disinfectant.
Although most of the animals were kept outside, many were also familiar with the inside of the mansion. Scatter, of course, was a regular in the den for a while. Elvis kept goldfish in the office off his bedroom. He was also very fond of a parrot that he kept for a time, damn that bird could talk.
Both Delta and Dee loved cats. Aunt Delta took care of the strays that wandered onto the estate.
The baby ducks credited to Ann Margret grew up with the run of the Graceland yard, developing an easy association with the chickens that were left over from the days when Elvis's mother was alive.
Elvis loved dogs and other animals, but he enjoyed horses most of all.'
