There was usually little, if any, rehearsing. Elvis selected the songs to be recorded and he decided if there were to be any changes in the musical arrangements.
If change was to be made, he made it. His decisions were spontaneous, but they were usually correct. Elvis was the recording artist, and the producer.
This was an unheard of arrangement at the time. But Elvis changed all that.'
