when charlie was 9 years old, her father died. at least that's what she tells everyone. he father had many drug and alcohol problems which caused him to hit charlie's mother in his intoxication. but one time he went too far and charlie's mum had to self defend her bye stabbing charlize' father. it was a very hard time for the family but their loss also helped the family to start over in another country.
