It was the night of the Fourth of July. Sodapop and I were in my backyard laying on top of a van my grandpa had that didn't work anymore. We were silently looking at the stars off in the opposite direction of the fireworks. "Wow this is so beautiful." I said, Soda turned his head to look at me and said "it sure is." I looked at him and said "you're supposed to look at the sky" with a playful tone. He continued to stare at me and said "I'd rather look at you." I chuckled and looked back at the stars and so did he.
"Y/n..?"
"Yes, Soda?"
"I love you."
Hearing this made me raise up, we hadn't even had our first kiss yet.
"You... you do?" I asked him in a hopeful voice
"Yeah. Of course I do."
"I love you too Sodapop."
