Hello everyone! I am back! Today I want to inform everyone on contractions. Every single English speaker most likely uses contractions in everyday life. They can be confusing because a contraction is a word that is basically two words combined to shorten it and it takes less time lol.
The list of contractions are:
Do not- Don't
Will not- Won't
Cannot- Can't
Should not- Shouldn't
Would not- Wouldn't
Would have- Would've
Could have- Could've
Should have- Should've
Have not- Haven't
Is not- Isn't
They are- They're
They have- They've
Was not- Wasn't
We are- We're
Were not- Weren't
Did not- Didn't
Has not- Hasn't
We have- We've
Had not- Hadn't
I would- I'd
I am- I'm
Must have- Must've
Must not- Mustn't
Might have- Might've
I will- I'll
There are many more......Each of these contractions are two words put together. If there is an apostrophe between the n and t then that means there is an "o" thats supposed to be put there. If there is an apostrophe between the a letter and a "v" that means there is a "ha" missing to make it say something like "might have."
The best way to learn English is to get in the habit of not saying contractions. This is because many times when people learn English using contractions they often times forget the normal spelling of the word even though its not a big difference it can still confuse some people. My advice is to only listen to people using contractions because in the long run it can help you. Many times when people are speaking English they will use contractions, but when someone doesn't understand someone or they get annoyed then you hear the whole word like "I can not believe this happened" or "why in the world would you not take out the trash!" 😂😂
Thank you for reading my book it adds so much happiness to my life because I love helping. I need some advice for new parts to this book, so I can help as many people as I can. Comment and tell me what you think and if you have any questions. Bye y'all 👋🏻
