A Poem of Farewell

To my fondest thoughts of you, my memory would not cherish less

And within my heart they still shall dwell, on a love no mortal language could express

We one jot of former love retain, a love from my heart I will shed until nothing remains

But now we shall never be friends...

While life unrolls us its very best, with joy for anguish and smiles for tears, may Heavens bide the future pay the past

All's past amend, all's over, the baited hooks shall tangle me no more

Between us the fates throw a boundless ocean's roar

And we, two islands divided, far apart not more

we part to meet no more!

But if we shall meet, past the years, how should we greet?

With silence and tears!
