Ralsei was keen on this being a hero's journey as we traversed through—what he referred to it as— The Field of Hopes and Dreams. Lancer, on the other hand, is talking my ear off about Kris and Susie and how "cool" they really are.

I notice that Ralsei would often glance at me before quickly turning his head away when I notice, pretending to be looking at something else. He almost seemed annoyed about this trip. Before I could decide on addressing this, Lancer grabs my attention once again by asking if I was paying attention. Once I assured him I was, he continues on his little ramble by telling us more about the two heroes.

As we continue, Ralsei warns us of a labyrinth within these fields and reminds us to stay close. I soon feel a soft, fluffy hand gently hold mine, I never felt a hand hold mine so firmly yet with so much care. Lancer seemed to start lagging behind and as much as I wanted to slow down so that Lancer could catch up, Ralsei's pace proved to be difficult to adjust.

Various signs caught our eyes during our trip. Ralsei and I
"Enemies ahead! You're gonna die!!! (signed, Lancer)"
I take a glance at Lancer. He was frowning at me after reading the sign.
"Yeah... I wrote that sign when tryin' to stop the lightners. My dad told me they were evil and wanted to destroy our world!" Lancer beams.
"But that's all behind me now! I left the bad guy life a long time ago!" he puffs his chest out and places a hand on it.
I couldn't help but chuckle a little at him. I take another look at Ralsei, he isn't looking at me but I can hear mumbling.
I walk closer to Ralsei and I see him turn around.
"Oh my! Did you need something?" Ralsei asks innocently.
"Oh! Sorry if I startled you, is everything alright?"
Ralsei was taken aback by the question before pulling his scarf over his face.
"I'm fine... thank you for asking,"
Ralsei was so cute, I couldn't help but smile. However, I couldn't help but feel there was something behind that shyness.
I was interrupted in my thoughts when I heard Ralsei mumble my name.
     "Huh?"
"Are you sure you want to go back? Kris and Susie being able to make it back is... nothing short of a miracle,"
"What are you saying?" I start to question. My tone showing how anxious I was getting. Ralsei persisted.
"We cannot trust that the fountain can for sure bring you back. When Kris and Susie went ahead it was simply a stroke of luck. Who knows what could happen," Ralsei heeded. I had to ponder for a second on what he said.
"If that's the case... then why did you let Kris and Susie go through anyways? Weren't they your friends?"
Ralsei froze at the question and was about to reply before Lancer, yet again, butted in.
"Kris and Susie really wanted to go home, even if everybody loved them. As heroes of the Dark World, we had to fulfil any requests they had," Lancer smiles.
"And as the brave, caring, loyal, and handsome king, it was my duty to reward the Lighteners!"
"And—!" Ralsei adds. "Those two were risky and had a purpose being here," Ralsei paused. "N-not to say y-you don't have a purpose! Of course you do!"
Ralsei sighed and covered his face with his scarf. I felt bad, so I placed my and on his shoulder. Ralsei looks at me as I gave him the warmest smile I had. That seemed to really make his day.
Ralsei glanced at his feet before facing me.
"Thank you! You're too kind..." Ralsei spoke with joy in his tone. Ralsei leaned closer at me, as adorable as he was... he was a stranger and getting too close for my liking.
"Don't forget our mission! Geez! And I thought you'd be the one reminding me, toothpaste boy!" Lancer shouted from across the field. It seemed that he went along and didn't even notice. (How did he move so fast..?)
Ralsei seemed to snap back into reality before nodding. "Right! We need to get you... back home," He was silent at the last bit.
Ralsei grabbed my arm and tugged me across the field to move onto the next section. Tugging a bit too hard. Luckily by the end of the field he had let go and we continued. As much as I wanted to ask him... I couldn't. Not in front of Lancer.

A long journey across this strange world was to follow. It was a quite journey besides the occasional remarks by Lancer, recollecting the memories of the past lighteners. We were approaching the castle walls.

"Um... hey. There's something I gotta tell you about someone." Ralsei whispered, breaking the silence between us.
"Hm? Why are you whispering?" I whispered back
"Because it's about Lancer... I know we're almost at the fountain, but be careful around him..."
This was a complete 180 for Ralsei. I assumed he wasn't one to ever talk bad about anyone... and yet.
"I just want you to know that he still wants to be a bad guy." Ralsei whispered. I was starting to get mad. What happened to him being loyal to Lancer and wanting to guide him to being a better king? What happened just an hour ago of him being the kind, shy soul he is?
"Why are you trying to make Lancer look bad...?" I ask meekly. Ralsei looked taken aback.
"I... I only wanted to help. I just want you safe... you're Kris's friend after all," Ralsei said, stuffing his face into his scarf yet again.
"But why were you treating Lancer like someone I could trust just a few hours ago before telling me not to trust him?!" I snapped. Lancer looked behind to see us. He was so caught up in another story that he didn't even notice us fighting.
"I-it's not like that!! I just t-think we should be careful! You don't know how this place works!"
What is with him? Why is he acting so weird. I couldn't help but be frustrated towards him. It's like he was a different person.
"Fine. If you don't want to be with Lancer then you don't have to take me back to the fountain. I'll go by myself," I spoke, turning away from him and walking towards Lancer.
"Lancer, I think we should go on or own. Ralsei doesn't seem to want to go," Lancer looked sad hearing me say that but nodded.
"I'm sorry you don't want to go Ralsei, I promise she'll be back home soon. I'll make sure Susie lets me know how she's doing!" Lancer spoke, putting on an almost pitiful smile.
Lancer held my hand guiding me through the castle as the castle doors shut on Ralsei and his broken heart...
