Chapter 7

Sophia POV

The Next Day

I woke up and I remembered I have my appointment at Med today with Will to see if I could go back to work. I get up and start to get ready for the day.

I went in to the kitchen to see Connor on the phone he turns to me and points to the pancakes on the counter and then he walked into another room to finish his phone call and I start to eat  my pancakes. After I finished eating the pancakes Connor got off the phone and came back into the kitchen.

"Everything okay that sounded serious " I asked

"It was Doctor Latham he wants me to attend a conference about a new up incoming surgery " Connor said

"Whats wrong with that" I said

"He wants me to leave today and I can't" Connor said

"Why" I asked

"Because who is going to look after you. I need to be here for you " Connor said

"Connor you know I love how protective you are of me. You are the best big brother I could ask for. But I will be fine on my own here  okay" I said

" I tell you what how about we see what Will has to say and then I will make my decision. " Connor said looking at me

"Fine are you driving me to Med " I said

"Yes. We better head soon . Come on shortie" Connor said

"Hey you know I hate that nickname " I said

"But I love it " Connor said

We left the apartment and got into Connor's car and he drove to Med. We arrived at Med and got out and walked into reception.

"I have to head now will you be okay waiting for Will on your own" Connor said to me

"Yes I am going to be fine no need to worry " I said

"It's my job shortie " He said and left before I could say anything

I saw Maggie I walked over to her.

"Hey Maggie " I said

"Hey Sophia your here for your appointment Will right" Maggie said

"Yes I am " I said

"Well he is not busy do  you want to see him now" Maggie said

"Yes please " I said

I walked  to a room with Maggie and she told me to wait for Will. Will walked in and smiled at me.

"Hey Sophia. How are feeling." Will said

"I am feeling great Will " I said

"Well lets have a look at your wound " Will said

I lifted my shirt so he could see.

"Well everything looks in order. Has it been painful recently " Will asked

"No it hasn't " I said

"Well I will sign you off for work on one condition" Will said

"Okay what is it" I said

"It's desk duty for at least one week and come back to me just to make sure everything is okay" Will said

"Okay I will do anything as long I am not sitting around at home doing nothing" I said

"Good. I will fill out the forms. Wait here " Will said

I waited for Will to fill out the forms and when he came back he handed me the forms and we said goodbyes to each other. Maggie told me Connor was in the staff room. I walked over to the staff room and went in.

"Hey how was the appointment " Connor asked me

"It went great. Will signed me off for desk duty which is better than nothing" I said

"That great sis" Connor said

"So that means you can go to that conference now" I said

"Are you sure you would be okay " Connor asked

"Yes okay. Now please go to it " I said

"Okay I will but promise me if something happens you will call me " Connor said

"Yes okay I promise " I said

We said goodbye. I headed back home on my way I called Voight and told him I was cleared and he said I could come into work tomorrow. I arrived home and got changed

and decided to have a lazy afternoon. Connor came home and start to pack for his trip. While Connor was packing the door bell went I got up and answered it. It was Jay I gave him a hug and let him.

"Hey what are you doing here " I said

"I came by to check on you . Voight told us you will be starting tomorrow " Jay said

"Yes I am really excited " I said

Connor walked into the living room and saw Jay.

"Hey Jay good to see you man" Connor said

"Will told me you are going to a conference " Jay said

"Yes I am " Connor said

After a while Jay said he had to go. I said goodnight to Connor and I went to bed and fell asleep.
