33. First Night

Daniel 💜

Daniel and I just got back from the hospital with baby Teddy a couple of hours ago. We are about to settle him down for his first time at home. I'm sat in the chair in his nursery feeding him before we tuck him into bed. "How's it going, babe?" Daniel said walking in. "Good. He's nearly done I think" I reply. Soon Teddy was dove eating so I change his diaper and lift him into his crib in our room by our bed. "Good night, my boy. Sleep tight. Mommy and daddy need their sleep too" Daniel says kissing baby Teddy. I kiss him too. We get into bed too and try to settle down. Teddy went to sleep straight away. "Goodnight, babe. If he wakes up I can get up too" Daniel said. "Only I can feed him" I reply. "I know but I can be there if you need anything" he said. "Yeah thank you, Dani" I reply. We fall asleep soon after. During the night Teddy woke up a couple of times during the night but he slept pretty good to say it was his first night home. Daniel was there in case I needed him

Corbyn 💙

Corbyn and I took baby Astrid home this morning from the hospital. She has settled in all day. All she's done is just slept, ate and pooped but we think she's adjusting to life at home just well. It's great to bring our baby girl home after waiting 9 whole months to meet her. She is so adorable. We are just so in love with her. I have just got Astrid ready for bed. I have given her first wash, fed her and changed her into her pjs her the night. I rock her to sleep before putting her down in her crib by her bed. "Goodnight, baby girl. Sleep tight" Corbyn said. "Goodnight, my love" I say. We both kiss her goodnight and go out of the room silently without disturbing her. Corbyn and I are not going to bed just yet. We need a little time to unwind. We have the baby monitor next to us in case Astrid wakes up before we go to bed. "She's all sound asleep. Hopefully she sleeps for a while" he said. "Yeah she is and hopefully. She's a good little girl" I reply. "She's an Angel. Daddy's angel" Corbyn said. "Yeah she is" i reply. "You're tired, babe. Aren't you?" he said. "A little but I'll be okay" I reply. Corbyn and I had sometime together before going to bed ourselves. Astrid woke up just before we went to bed so I had to feed and change her again. It's constant with a newborn but I love it and we wouldn't change it

Jonah ❤️

Jonah and I brought our babies Lauren and Luke home from the hospital earlier this afternoon. We are glad to be home with them after spending a few days in that hospital. They are both settling into our home and doing well. It's been a good afternoon with them. Our first in our home as a family of four. The twins are asleep in bed but they seem to fall off at different times which is sometimes confusing for us as parents. We have the baby monitor next to us. Jonah and I are sat on the couch having some down time together before we go to bed ourselves. "So the first day with the twins at home? Eh" he said. "I know and it was great" I reply. "Yeah but tiring though. At least there's two of us. One for each baby" Jonah said. "Yeah exactly" I reply. I rest my head on Jonah's shoulder and fall asleep. I was woken by one of the babies crying. "I'll go and check on them" he said. "Okay" I yawn. Jonah goes into our room where the twins are sleeping and comes back with Lauren who is crying loudly. "Think she needs feeding. She won't settle" he said. "Okay no problem. I'll feed her. Then I'll probably go to bed" I reply. I feed Lauren in the chair in the nursery and she settles down. Luke then wakes up for a feed. He could probably sense that his sister was awake. Then we put both babies back to sleep and go to sleep ourselves. The first night wasn't too bad tbh

Jack 💚

Baby Joe is still a few days old and jack and I are loving being parents to him. He has adjusted to a night and day routine just about now. He's sleeping good but still wakes up a few times during the night. Jack and I are sleeping. We went to bed a couple of hours ago as we are tired with being new parents. We didn't do our usual trick of staying up till the early hours. I just got off to sleep when I was woken up by Joe. Jack wakes up too. Joe is crying so I got out of bed and went over to his crib and picks him up. I carry him back over to the bed and cry to calm him down. I check his diaper and it doesn't need changing and I only fed him a couple of hours ago so I think he's okay. He probably just wants a cuddle. "Hey, babe" Jack yawns. "Hey" I say. "Is little man okay?" he asks. "Yeah think he just wants a cuddle from his mommy and daddy" I reply. "Awe. Come here, little man. How about a cuddle from daddy?" Jack said. "Of course. Little Joey loves his daddy and cuddles from daddy" I say. "Yep he does. He's a daddy's boy" he said. "And a mommy's boy too" I reply. "Yep". Jack and I cuddle cuddle baby Joe for sometime before putting him back to sleep and going to sleep ourselves

Zach 🧡

Zach and I got home from the hospital with baby Emily this morning after spending a few days there. It's great to be home with her. It's a few days off Christmas so it's great to have her home. We are trying to get Emily to sleep for the night but she won't settle. We are having trouble getting her to sleep. We don't want to call my mom in as we want to show that we are independent parents. Zach is trying to rock Emily to sleep but she's still crying a lot. "What should we do? Nothing seems to be working" he said. "I don't know. I guess just keep rocking her till she falls asleep" I reply. "Should we get your mom?" Zach asks. "No not just yet. Let's just try and settle we ourselves" I reply. "When was the last time you changed her diaper?" Zach asks. "I don't know. A while ago probably" I reply. "Maybe try changing her again and she might settle" he said. "Yeah I could try but if that doesn't work. I'll get my mom" I reply. I lay Emily down on her changing table and change her diaper. She was still crying till then. She stopped crying when I changed her. I took her back through to our room. "See they worked" Zach said. "Yeah it did. Sorry I just forgot the last time I changed her" I reply. "It okay, babe. I know you're tired" he said. Emily goes right off to sleep after that and Zach and I could relax a bit too. We hope she sleeps well tonight
