Vikrant's Residence that night:

Life had always been tough on him. But never did he shy away
from it like a coward. He faced the challenges thrown at him head on. Never did
he back down or accept defeat. He believed that there was nothing called fate
and that life was what you made of it.

He lost his parents at a very young age and was raised in an
orphanage. It was very tough going through the daily motions of life over
there. He was small, confused, clueless and scared when he was taken to the orphanage.
He did not understand what was happening and why he had to live in a strange
place, amongst unknown people. He wanted to be back in his house, to be held
lovingly by his mother while his father read him his favourite story. He waited
and waited. Days turned into months, months into years, but never did that day
ever come. He stopped looking forward to it. The only thing he was thankful to
have had, was that one friend who helped him through that ordeal. AARTHI.

Aarthi was the only friend who was constant in his
ever-turbulent life. She made him see life in a new light, which gave him hope
and made him believe that nothing was impossible. They helped each other
through tough times and came out of the orphanage with a lot of faith in their
abilities and a new perspective towards life. He worked very hard on his
studies and completed his graduation and post graduation in business
management, with flying colours. He started out in the business world on his
own and tasted success within a short span of four years. Aarthi went on with
her life and he went on with his. Their interactions gradually came down from
conversing everyday to every once in a while. He did not have time for anyone
or anything and was living life on a fast lane. That was until he met Jahnvi.

The sudden noise of tumblers clinking in the kitchen,
brought him back to the present. The present, where his wife was ready to elope
with her ex-husband, until half an hour ago. But what he saw in the park, left
him confused. What were Sarita and Raj planning now? he wondered. They parted
ways when he left and he was sure that Raj would have gone back to his house.
Which meant Sarita would be back here any moment now. Was Divya on the verge of
figuring out what happened between her fianc and her friend? Is that why
Sarita was coming back home, because she has no other option left? His foolish
heart wanted to believe that she was coming home for them, because she loves
them.

He left the living room for his study, all the while
wondering how he would interact with her from now on, after what happened
tonight. Will he be able to have a decent conversation with her? Should he
confront her with what he saw? Will she come clean or will the confrontation
make her want to cover her tracks more meticulously? He thought.

No, no he could not confront her right away. He did not want
Abhi to sense any underlying tension between them. His tender heart will not be
able to bear such pain again. He needed to be strong for his son now, to hell
with everything else, he thought. And for this to happen, he needed to distance
himself from her emotionally.

He cursed out loud at Sarita, as he placed the revolver back
in its case.

"I hate you Sarita! Hate you for what you almost did
tonight! And I hate myself for having thought of killing you. However cold hearted
you are, I do not have any right to dole out punishments. I can never forgive
you for this betrayal of trust, Sarita! Never!"

He was unable to understand whether he hated her or hated
himself for loving her.

He closed the case and placed in under lock and key, all the
while unbeknownst to him, his entire outburst and actions were caught on tape
by someone who hated him.
