Vikrant's Residence:

She checked the clock as soon as she entered the house and
realized it was half past two in the morning. She was anxious and nervous about
the impending conversation with her husband. She prayed silently for it to go
well and for all the things to fall in place. She hoped that he stayed up to
have the said conversation. And she was excited with anticipation, wondering
how their life would proceed from there.

But first she had something very important to do. She
tiptoed into her son's room to check on him. She found him to be in a very deep
slumber and breathed a sigh of relief, for this was his first night, sleeping alone in his room. She went in and kissed him on his
forehead, adjusted his blanket and left the room silently.

As she proceeded towards her bedroom, her footsteps faltered
a little out of nervousness. Her hands felt clammy as she turned the knob of
the bedroom door. She opened the door gradually, only to find the room empty.
This brought a puzzling frown to her face. She checked to see if her husband
was in the bathroom, to find that empty as well. She found the nightwear
she placed on the table for him, still lying there untouched. This alarmed her,
but relief swept through her veins, when she found the note she left for him
missing. Assuming that he must have read it, a new found confidence replaced the
nervousness that she had felt earlier.

She recollected that she last saw him in his study. She
presumed that he must be waiting for her over there. She made her way towards
the study. She found the door slightly ajar and the lights still on. She went
inside slowly and was about to apologize for her late arrival. She stopped
short at saying anything when she found that HER Mr. Akdu was there lying on
the sofa, fast asleep. She gazed at him for a very long time, unaware that she
was doing so. He looked so relaxed and at peace in his sleep, completely in
contrast to how he behaved when he was up.

How she wished she
could just lie there beside him, with his arms around her and forget about everything, just for one night. She knew that his hands
would be strong while safeguarding her from the cruel world and tender while
caressing her skin with love. This brought a deep blush to her skin and she
smiled inwardly at her wandering thoughts.

She went near him and gently removed his spectacles, without
disturbing him. She removed what looked like a diary from under his folded
hands. She placed them on the table, went into their bedroom and brought a
blanket to cover him with it. As she did so, he turned around and grasped her
hand and murmured 'Don't leave me, Sarita' in his sleep. Her eyes immediately
glazed with unshed tears. She found it difficult to grasp that not only was she
special to Abhi, but to Mr. Suryavanshi as well. That brought a contented smile
to her lips. How could she be this blessed? she wondered. This prompted her to make a silent promise to herself
and her husband that she would never leave him and their son, come what may!

She slowly removed his hand from hers and turned off the
lights while leaving the study. She went into their bedroom, changed into her
nightwear and lied down on the mattress, thinking that the most important
conversation must be dealt with as soon as the sun arose.

But for now she
gradually went into a deep slumber, dreaming about how to make each and every
day special for her Akduji, from now on to eternity.
