"Here get to snapping these for me" My mother said placing a bowl of fresh green beans down in front of me. "Why is it every time I come over here you make me help. I just came to eat." I said to my mom as I began to snap the ends of the beans.

Every Sunday, my entire family would come to my mothers house for Sunday dinner. All my siblings, nieces and nephews, aunties, uncles and cousins were annoying and loud but I wouldn't trade my family for the world. 

"Cookie don't get slapped on this beautiful Sunday" My mother Celestine said making me smack my lips. One thing about her is she didn't care how old her kids got. I'm a grown ass woman and she still treats me like a child.

"THE TRUE HOTGIRL IS HERE!" My little sister Kendall said walking in the kitchen. Kendall is 19 and is a hot mess. She's currently going to the University of Philadelphia but still comes home on the weekends.

"What the hell is a hot girl?" My mom asked.

"Trust me, you don't want to know. K, help me snap these green beans" I told her.

"Um no. I'm about to go take a nap. Wake me up when the food is ready." Kendall said getting ready to head for the living room. "No you not. Get in here and peel these potatoes." My mom said making her groan.

We all engaged in small talk while we did our thing before I stood up to go rinse the beans off.

"Ooohhh Cookie" Kendall said with a smirk on her face. Before I could ask her what she was talking about... my best friend was walking in the kitchen. "Hey everybody. Damn Cook...you getting thick. What Lucious been feeding you sis?" Kelly asked as she gave my momma a kiss on the cheek.

Kelendira aka Kelly is my best friend/sister. We been friends since we were 8 and in the second grade. Our parents were very close as well. My parents became her legal guardians, after her family died in a car accident our freshman year. She's my sister and bestfriend all in one.
