words of lead
dense and heavy
plunge below the surface
displaced memories
swirl murky turbulence
drifts in smothering clouds
soundlessly
they bury themselves
hastily lobbed torpedoes
silt to the hilt
they remain undetonated
to pulverize any potential future
aimed at random
purposeful they've sunk
consigned to love's oblivion
