"I think it's nice." Shaylee Mikaelson bit her lip, smiling as she admired the high ceilings and open spaces as well as the little natural lighting that came through the large windows of her new home in Forks, Washington. She sat down on the grey couch facing opposite from her older sister, Rebekah.
"It's a bit small but I guess it'll do," Rebekah grunted, cringing at the unfamiliar territory.
Being in Forks had its advantages; it was winter every day and Shaylee liked the cold and rain. Because it was basically cloud every day, the sun didn't reveal the unnatural sight of what the four siblings truly were.
"At least someone appreciates the effort we put into putting a roof over your head, food on your table and clothes on your body," Niklaus said, sitting on the kitchen stool. "Sorry to rush you when you just got to your new home by the way baby sister, you have school," he glanced down to his watch, "in half an hour."
"You're funny, Niklaus." The youngest sister smirked as she continued to look up at the ceiling. She ran a hand through her platinum blonde hair and flicked it over the chair she rested on.
"I know I am, Shay, but I'm being serious." Klaus poured himself a cup of collected animal blood that Elijah and Rebekah collected earlier in the day.
"School! What!?" The confused and anxious blonde sat up immediately, looking at her older brothers with pleading eyes which earned a snorting smirk from her older sister.
"Well, sister, if we want to seem normal and approachable in this town that means you must go to school. Get to know the fellow people here." Elijah stated. Elijah has always been close with Shaylee but she was extremely annoyed with the actions he made. "The school is called Forks High and it's only a five-minute drive from here."
"But I-" Klaus cut the paranoid blonde off.
"You're a vampire, darling. Stop overthinking." Klaus said, taking a sip from the animal blood in his cup.
"Exactly! I'm a vampire going to a school full of humans," shouted Shaylee. "What do you want me to do? Maul them in the, what do you call it, cafeteria!?"
"They should make a movie with that, pretty amazing idea, sister," Klaus mumbled into his cup.
"This is why we got all your things ready for you in the car. We knew you'd act like this." Rebekah patted her sisters back as she kicked her feet up. "We enrolled you three days ago so they're expecting you."
"What your sister means is, you're powerful, strong, extremely intelligent and you're going to be fine." Elijah sat in front of her with an assuring smile "You're due to leave in... 10 minutes." Elijah smiled up at his younger sister from his watch.
"10 minutes?" The anxious vampire raided her wardrobe last minute to get ready at impossible speed, though the majority of the clothes were ancient. All from the 30 centuries, she had lived through. The clothes she wore during the 21st century were few. Well, none appropriate for the weather conditions or for a school. It didn't take a long as she predicted, but longer than necessary.
