The next day, Alex came to school.

And when he opened the door, Jordan and Tristan greeted him good morning.

Just then, another hand grabbed Alex's shoulder.

“Good morning!”

It was Ashley.
Jordan looked over at Tristan, and he was blushing.

“Oh, hey Ash.”

Ashley looked at Jordan and Tristan and smiled.
“Hey, you're the one who helped me the other day, right? Thanks alot.”

Tristan looked at her and blushed more.
“Y-yeah.. I-its no big deal.”

“Oh, by the way Alex, can I come with you on lunch? My friends have a group study and I'm all alone, is that okay?”

“Yeah, sure.”

Ashley's smile grew wider.
“Thanks! Well, I'll see you guys later. Bye, Alex.”

She walked away, but before she could even walk further she turned around and looked at Tristan.

“What's your name? I never got it since you left in such a hurry.”

“O-oh. I-im Tristan,” he stammered.

Jordan put his arm around Tristan's neck.
“And I'm Jordan.”

Ashley smiled and bid goodbye.

At lunch, when the three of them finally sat down, Ashley rushed to their table and sat beside Alex.

But before she could even sit down, Jordan scooted beside Alex.
“Oh, sorry. This seat is taken. You can sit next to Tristan though.”

Ashley sat beside Tristan while Jordan and Alex laughed silently.

The four of them talked together, and when the bell rang, they all went to their classroom together.

Alex was extremely happy.
He finally made friends.
But half of him still didn't trust them. He didn't want the thing that happened to him last time to happen again.

When he sat down, he wanted to clear his mind over everything.
That's when he remembered about the lake.

He could go there again to sleep and relax.
And maybe he'll talk to Agatha, well, if she was there.

Besides, Agatha was the only one who felt like she understood where he stands and what he's been going through.

So, it was decided.
He's going back there again.

Since their afternoon teacher wasn't coming because he went to a meeting, Alex decided to go to the lake.

“Hey, where you going?” Jordan asked him.

“Uh.. The canteen. I'm getting kinda hungry so.. Yeah.”

Jordan, Tristan, and Ashley wanted to come with him, but Alex said that the three of them had to get to know each other alot more.

He left the three of them and went to the back of the school.

He crawled down the fence and when he reached the lake, he ran down and sat on the grass.

He lay down and looked up at the sky.

He looked at the blue sky that was accompanied by white and fluffy clouds that moved with the wind.

He inhaled the fresh air and exhaled.

A few moments later, he fell asleep.

He woke up when he heard someone calling his name.

He opened his eyes and saw Agatha looking down at him with a smile.

“Oh.. Uh..”

He immediately sat up and looked at her.
“How.. How long have you been here?”

Agatha sat down in front of him.
“I'm always here.”

Alex didn't know what that meant, but he just put it aside.

“By the way, why didn't you come here yesterday?” she asked.

Alex looked up at her.
“I had things that I had to do.”

Agatha smiled.
“You have any friends at school?”

Alex nodded and Agatha's face brightened up.

“So you're a first year, hm? How's the school life in our school?” Agatha asked.

Alex hugged his knees.
“It wasn't really good at first..”

Agatha raised an eyebrow.
“How so?”

Alex looked away.
“.. I didn't really talk to many people and I've been dealing with other problems too.”

Agatha frowned.

“And that's when I finally got used to the fact that I wont make any friends this year. But then, they came.”

“You mean you friends?”

Alex smiled and nodded.

Agatha sighed.
“Were the same, you and I. I never made friends when I was new to this school. Until I managed to socialize and believed in myself, and all my worries disappeared.”

Agatha looked at him and smiled.
“You should believe more in yourself too, Alex.”

Alex smiled back at her and nodded.
She treats him like he's his little brother, and he suddenly remembered her older sister back at home.
He wondered what ever happened to her after that night his mom and her fought.

The both of them got to know each other alot more.
That's when Alex realized that they both have alot in common

A few more hours later, his watch started to beep.

“Well, that's my cue.”
Alex stood up and cleaned himself.

Agatha frowned.
“Yeah, you should go. Guess I'll be alone here again..”

Alex noticed the sadness in her voice. Seems like she's been pretty much alone here and has no one to talk with.
“Uh.. I guess I'll come back here tomorrow.”

Agatha's face lightened up.
“What? Really? Sure! I'll be expecting you tomorrow then.”

Alex smiled at her cheery attitude.
For a girl who does nothing but complain about school work, she always has a positive attitude and a genuine smile on her face.

Alex bid goodbye to Agatha and walked away.

He looked at his watch and saw it was already 5 pm.
He looked back and expected to see Agatha, but there was no one.

The only thing that accompanied him, was the wind along with fireflies that flew everywhere and carried their light.

Where did she go? He asked himself.

Alex shook his head and left the lake.
He crawled down the fence and went back to their room.

He carried his bag, and when he went out of their room he saw Jordan, Tristan and Ashley talking to each other.

When Ashley saw Alex walking towards them, she waved at him and she waved back.

“Where have you been? You missed everything. I cant believe Tristan and I actually have alot in common!” she smiled.

Tristan blushed and scratched his head.

Alex smiled.
They finally got to know each other and became friends, and that makes him happy.

“Those two have been sweet to each other ever since you left. It's like I don't even exist.” Jordan whispered to Alex.

Alex laughed.

The four of them walked and talked on their way home.
