3 times a charm

In the morning, Tui and I decide to avoid being with the family as much as possible. For breakfast, we walk back to Lucy's store. When we enter, she's smiling brightly from behind the counter

"Good morning ladies. You're both out early"

Tui smiles back and nods "We enjoyed our sushi so much yesterday, we thought we'd come and get breakfast"

Lucy laughs happily "I knew I liked you girls from the moment I saw you" She walks from behind the counter and ushers us to follow. "Our breakfast cuisine is out back"

We follow Lucy out a door and into a back room with another older woman putting plates on the table. The lady looks up a smiles "Is this them then?" She asks

"Yes my love" Lucy smiles back "I told you they'd be here"

Tui and I look at each other in confusion "I'm sorry....you knew we'd be here?" I ask

"Oh yes" The nice lady says "My wife is never wrong....unfortunately"

"Hey!" Lucy tries to pout but the other lady winks at her which gets Lucy giggling. "I should introduce you ladies. Tui and Waima, this is my wife Avalon"

Avalon does a little curtsy and resumes setting the table

Tui looks at me again with the same WTF look as I have

"If you girls are going to get to school on time, then I suggest you both sit down and eat the breakfast I cooked"

We both stop looking at each then look at Avalon, only to see a table full of food. There's bacon, fried eggs, pancakes, waffles. An absolutely delicious looking omelet. Fresh fruit, 4 cups of coffee and orange juice

"Holy shit!" Tui gasps "Where'd all of this food come from?! I didn't even see either of you carry it in"

Both Lucy and Avalon chuckle "Avalon is very stealth when it comes to setting the table"

"No shit!" Tui gasps again

We all sitdown and start eating. The food is amazing, every bite is as glorious as the next

"So how did you know Tui and I would be here....honestly?" I query

Lucy sighs "I saw how you both looked yesterday. After a long trip, most people would rather stay home and relax with their families....you two didn't. I kinda figured you'd be here for breakfast as well"

"But our timing could've of been wrong and this food would've gone cold" I couldn't help but point out the obvious

Avalon speaks up this time "Like I said....Lucy is never wrong"

"It's a gift and a curse sometimes" Lucy exclaims

"Uh huh" Is all I can respond

Breakfast is amazing and now, all Tui and I can do is waddle out of the store. Avalon and Lucy walk us out which we are grateful for

"Thank you for such an amazing breakfast" Tui grins. "Mums cooking is good, but yours is much better Avalon"

"I'm glad you think so Tui. I do pride myself on my conjuring abilities"

We both hug them goodbye and waddle home. When we get there, Mum is waiting at the front door "And where were you two?" She asks

"Getting breakfast" Tui says before walking inside

Mum looks at me in defeat "There was breakfast here" She mumbles before following suit

I walk into my room and grab my packed bag. School has already been going for 3 weeks so I have a lot of catching up to do. I meet Mum outside in the car with Jay-Jay of course in the front seat.
