10 years after (Y/N)'s escape, she had completely forgotten everything about Derry. Who's that? Never heard of them. Is that a place?
She was a wonderful woman. Never married, and wrote her own books. A popular author, almost as good as William Denbrough. Though.. Not quite.
Currently, she was working away at drafting a new plot for some sort of detective mystery. A new take on Sherlock Holmes, perhaps. A stack of mail was sitting on her desk next to her messy pile of notebooks. She hadn't gone through it yet. Probably just a bunch of icky fan letters of taxes or bills.
(Y/N), wearing a pair of reading glasses and a set of comfortable penguin patterned pajamas, soon put down her pen and stared at the pile of mail she had. She soon started sorting through it, tossing letters to the side while placing important looking things on the desk. Soon, she was at the bottom of the pile.
A simple white envelope with her name and address written on it caught her attention. Very fancy looking handwriting, with no return address. Odd, what's up with that? Most 14 year olds can't write like that.
She curious, carefully tore the envelope open. Pulling out a piece of crisp, white paper, she adjusted her glasses and started to read.
"Hello, (Y/N). It's been so long. Do you remember me? I remember you. Even after 10 years. I remember you so well. I dream of you, (Y/N). I miss you. Please come back. Come back to Derry, please."
Her eye brows furrowed in confusion. "What?" she said softly. No one had signed it. Very beautiful handwriting. Professional, clean, easy to read.. Who was this from.
(Y/N) sat in confusion, staring at the letter. 10 years? Who did she know from 10 years ago that might know her today? Her eyes clouded over as she thought. Where was Derry..?
After a few moments, she realized that it smelled odd. The room was filled with a weird, sweet smell. The source was hard to pinpoint. She looked around, then looked back towards the paper in her hand. She slowly raised it to her face, sniffing it.
Her heart dropped.
The lovely letter smelt like cotton candy. Creepy. Weird. Who would send something like this?
Someone from Derry would definitely send it. Derry was an odd town. She remembered people always being overly obsessed with sweets and flirting. Flirting was a big thing in Derry. Probably why she moved away.
She tapped her chin, losing her focus on reality again as she thought.
A soft tune started to play in the background. Low, quiet, barely audible. A circus tune. A music box. Lovely little sound.. It made her want to fall asleep.
