He tossed his phone onto the bed, fed up with everyone trying to ask him if he was okay, if he needed help, if there was something going on. The answer seemed pretty obvious to him, but then, he kept trying to hide it and deny it.

There was a knock on his window. That was odd. His room was on the second floor. He looked out the window and saw... Zelda? With her backpack? She was probably going to a club or something, but why was she here? He opened the window and stick his head out. He motioned for her to be quiet and climbed out of the window and down to her. He had done that several times before, to get out and in.

"What the hell do you want?"
"I wanted to see if you're okay."
"Why do you care?"
"Because I can."
Zelda took out a pen and silently wrote something on his arm.
"Bye, gotta go. Text me."
She ran off, leaving him confused. He looked down at his arm and saw that she had written a phone number. He looked back up in the direction she had run.

He climbed back up into his room and didn't bother to text Zelda until later. Instead, he texted Sean.

L: hey
S: yeah?
S: u gonna answer my question from before?
L: no
L: so I'm at home, right
S: yeah
S: are you staying home today too
L: yeah
S: okay
S: so what is it
L: I hear a knock on the door, so I go check it out
S: okay
L: and its zelda
S: wtf
L: exactly
L: so she's heading to school for a club or something right
L: but she stops at my house
L: guess what she did
S: she punched you again
L: no!
L: it was something completely different
L: she gave me something
S: her phone number?
L: yeah
S: what?
S: I was joking
L: I'm not
S: did you text her yet
L: no
S: do it
S: ask her what she wants
L: she's probably just going to bother me
S: probably
L: maybe she'll "help" me with homework
S: haha very likely
L: very funny sean

~

L: if ur gonna ask me if I'm okay then I don't want to hear it
Z: oh, good I thought you weren't going to text me
L: you wrote on my arm in ink
L: my dad will flip out if he sees
L: and I can't just casually walk to the bathroom either
L: he might see me
Z: I don't think he's mind if you went to the bathroom
L: you never know
Z: so why weren't you at school yesterday
L: I had to do something
Z: you and i both know that's not true
L: okay fine
L: my dad was keeping me at home as punishment for not being at home the other night
Z: that's outrageous!
L: eh
L: so do you have a club today
Z: yeah
L: what is it
Z: chess
L: nerd
Z: not really
Z: I'm not a huge fan of chess
L: then why are you in the chess club
Z: clubs help you get into college and get good jobs
L: yeah okay but the chess club?
L: there are so many other clubs that don't meet this early and also aren't so stupid
Z: hey some people love chess
L: yeah but if you don't like it then it's stupid to be doing it
Z: wise words for a dumbass like you
L: hey
L: just cuz I procrastinate doesn't mean I'm stupid
Z: wow you spelled procrastinate right
Z: actually it was probably autocorrect
L: stop it
Z: stop teasing you?
L: yeah duh
Z: I could say the same to you
L: jeez I'm sorry
Z: yeah me too
Z: anyways we're about to start
Z: bye
