*Monday*

Winter break was over, and Link and Zelda hadn't talked much since the incident. There was an unspoken agreement that it would be too dangerous to go to each other's houses. As for texting, well, Link hadn't been answering his phone.
She decided that he had probably gotten it taken away or something.

When she get to school, she found that he was already sitting in his seat. Nobody else was in the classroom yet.
He was just looking down at his desk with his arms hanging down at his sides.

She sat down next to him in her normal seat.
"Link? Is everything alright?"
No answer.
She tried again.
"Hello? Are you there?"
Still no response.
"Link. Are you awake?"

She shook him a little, and he snapped out if his trance. He shook his head, groaning.
"Did I space out again? That's the third time this week..."

"Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, of course. I've just been a bit off."
"For a week?"

Before he could answer, the door opened. Sean walked over and put both hands on Link's desk, making him jump a little.
"I heard you got a kiss."
Link looked down, his face going red.
"Mhm."
"Who was the lucky gal?"

He pointed at Zelda with his thumb, and she looked away, pretending not to notice. She felt her ears grow warm, and she covered them with her hair. Sean's eyes widened.
"I thought you hated each other!"
Link shook his head.
"Not any more."
"Since when?"
"Since before winter break. It's been a while. Dunno why you haven't noticed. It's nothing that serious, though."

The way he just brushed it off made her feel weird. He didn't seem to take it as seriously as she did. Although, he was the one that played a sing for her, and she didn't do much for him. Maybe he felt that she was the one who didn't care as much.

Well, now she felt bad. What could she do for him?

"Wanna play Knights of Hyrule later?"
"Sure, we haven't played in ages."
"Hey, Zel, wanna play with us?"

She looked back over at them and smiled. "Sure."
Link did a fist pump. "Yes!"

Zelda grabbed her jacket and ran outside. She hurried down the street to L's house, and when she got there, she walked up to the door.
She held her first up to knock, but she hesitated.

Should she risk facing his dad?
She shook her head. Of course. Link could be hurt.
But then... if it was at the hand of his father, he'd probably get in more trouble...

Before she could think into it any more, she knocked on the door. Hard.

Instead of a large man, the person who answered was a young girl.
"Are you Zelda?"
"Yes."
"I remember you. Link's in his room. Our dad isn't home, so you don't need to worry about that."
"Oh, good. Thanks..."
"Aryll. Hasn't he told you about me?"
"Oh! Yes, I remember now. Thank you, Aryll."
"You're welcome!"

Zelda smiled and went up to Link's room. She knocked on the door, but there was no answer. She knocked again. Still no response.
"Link?"
Nothing.
"It's Zelda."
Again, nothing.
"I'm gonna come in, okay?"
Still no reply.

She opened the door, and at first, she didn't see Link.
Then, she saw him.
