Boredom.

It sunk its teeth into the young Wilder boy and nothing he did could cure him of it. Rolling off the bed and onto his feet he makes his way to his doorway and then out into the hallway. There was this huge mansion and hardly anything to do. He didn't feel like watching a movie or playing a video game. Jason was out and Bruce was at work, Alfred was around the mansion doing something but he didn't want to bother the older man.

So he found himself wondering the giant building in search of something to do.

After what felt like hours of wandering through the countless hallways and rooms, he found himself in Jason's room. Sitting on Jason's bed, he looks at the poster on the boy's wall. It was of a punk rock band, he didn't recognize the name of it. Jason's bed was soft and comfortable, his was comfortable, yes but his didn't smell like Jason. It's smelt musty and stale. It was absolutely disgusting.

He liked Jason's room because it looked lively and it had so much color. Yeah, his room didn't have that much color because he hadn't been here that long but still.

Loud footsteps pull Emric out of his thoughts causing him to teleport out of Jason's room and into his own. As if it were fate those footsteps belonged to Jason, he peeked into Emric's room to find him laying sprawled out on the floor, looking up at the ceiling. Jason's figure catches Emric's gaze and his head snaps in the Robins direction. Sitting up he says, "Jason. Hey."

"Hey, would you want to come with me? Some guy I know is having a small get together of sorts. It's like a party." Jason asks, his hand travels to the back of his neck and begins to rub it nervously.

Looking at Jason, Emric's mind began to wonder. Was Jason asking him to hang out? Why was he so nervous about it? "Yeah, sure, what time does this get together start?"

"It starts at seven." Jason pushes off the doorway with a smile on his face. Emric watches as the second Robin leaves and his facial expression screams excitement.

A smile crawls over his face as he gets up from his floor. He'd never been to a party before, this would be his first one. What were you even supposed to do at parties? He'd seen parties on movies he'd seen with Bruce, Jason, and Alfred but he figured that was just a stereotype. After the excitement faded he moved into the hallway and walked over to Jason's room, "Hey Jay?"

"Yeah?" Jason asks turning to face the boy whose leaning up against his doorframe. "What's up?"

"I've never been to a party before." Emric rubs his right arm and looks down at the ground embarrassedly. He started to feel a little subconscious about interacting with a bunch of other people. He was okay with Rachel, Gar, and that Kory woman. They were abnormal just like he was, he didn't have to hide who he was. But with other people, that was a different story.

Jason looked at Emric and saw the doubt on his face. Moving towards the shorter boy he lifts up his chin so he's looking at Jason's face, "Don't worry, it'll be fine. You'll do perfectly fine."

"Really?" Emric's lips curled upwards and his eyes lit up. Jason couldn't help but smile at how happy Emric was. He could feel it in his head too.

Jason nods and Emric turns around, happily bouncing back to his room next door. He couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in knowing that he, Jason Todd, the usual screw up, could make Emric feel that happy. As Jason turned around to walk back over to his bed he began to hope that the party was going to be a good one. He didn't actually know the guy he heard the information from. He just heard there was going to be a party and thought it would be fun for the two of them to go, so Emric could be around other teenagers.
