Tears streaming down her face as she ran to her room. She passed Francesca and Alessandro in the hall. Francesca saw her and ran after her. Alessandro, already knowing about what happened, went to go have a chat with his friend Enzo.

Enzo was shocked. At loss for words, this was not at all how he expected that to go.
Still standing in the middle of his office, where she left him, he began pacing.

Alessandro walked in with a blank face. "After all these years of me trying to teach you how to treat women, you still haven't learned a damn thing, have you?"

"Alessandro, now is not the time for one of your stupid, immature remarks."

"Only immature people say 'stupid'," Alessandro mocked under his breath. Receiving an angry growl from Enzo.

"So what's you do?" Alessandro chuckled.

"Stick your hand down her shirt with the excuse of 'finding buried treasure'?"

He was referring to the time when they were kids, at a gala Enzo's father was throwing. They were tossing pennies over the balcony trying to land them in the guests' champagne glasses when Enzo accidentally landed one in the cleavage of an older woman. Alessandro and Francesca dared him to go retrieve it. And Enzo had always been one to keep his word.

Enzo threw him a deadly glare and shook his head. "No, and I thought I told you never to bring that up again."

He raised his hands in surrender. "Sorry, but you must admit the look on that woman's face was priceless!"

"I accused her of being a mole," Enzo blurted, changing the subject. "I accused her of the attack last night too."

"I made her cry."

Alessandro cringed.

"Wow," Alessandro started. "You are one really dumb asshole."

"Tell me something I don't know."

"So how are you going to make it up to her?"

"Make it up to her?" Enzo snorted. "I'm a mafia boss, Alessandro. I don't have to do shit."

Alessandro just stared at him wondering how in the world this man even graduated high school. "You honestly think that you don't have to apologize to her? That she'll just waltz back to you with open arms as if nothing happened?"

Enzo nodded.

"Well, my friend. You just lost yourself a girlfriend."

Enzo chuckled, "you don't actually think she'll leave me because of this petty matter?"

Once again, Alessandro started at him.

"Fine!"

"What do I have to do to make her forgive me!"

After storming out of Enzo's office, Jane blindly headed for her room. Her tears made it quite hard to see where exactly she was going.

Jane entered the room and slammed the door shut. She went straight for her nightstand where she kept the latest book she was reading. Hopefully some reading would help calm her down.

When she threw open the drawer, her book wasn't there. As a matter of fact, non of the things in the drawer were hers. Jane took in her surroundings.

The dark curtains and the huge floor-to-ceiling window. The masculine scent of Dior. Of course, she would mistake his room for hers, they were right next to each other!

She was about to close the nightstand when something in the drawer caught her eye. A small photograph of Enzo and a woman. She had a petite body that fit perfectly into a red sundress. Her beautiful brunette hair, combed with honey highlights. A bright, twinkling smile accompanied her hazel eyes.

She is beautiful.

And Enzo. He looked happy. Happier than she'd ever seen him. His eyes wrinkled at the corners with a slight scrunch of his nose. His shoulders appeared to be sagged and relaxed. Enzo's arm wrapped around the woman's waist as he kissed her cheek. This must be Eliana.

It doesn't take a genius to look at this picture and see that they're in love. Though his eyes were closed, she could see the tender hold he had on her.

Jane felt a wave of sadness rush through her. Who was she kidding? She could never compete with her. Enzo could never love her the way he loved this woman. His first love, no doubt. And she knew all too well about first loves. Never could she stop loving Enzo, no matter what.

A single tear fell down the tip of her nose. Watching as it landed on the photograph, Jane felt her heart break.
