I collected my things but left my trust on the trident being in their closet as I decided to head off. I had stayed till four to pack my stuff before I walked off back 'home'. Maya trots beside me as I'm left with my thoughts.
Billy was really cool today. Billy, Billy, Billy...His smile, eyes, hair, and laugh.
I feel the heat rise to my cheeks. For some reason, I can't get him out of my head. Not the adult version of him, no. The kid version with the gentle green eyes and fuzzy brown hair. I suddenly...
Kind of miss him. Having him as company feels really nice. It makes me feel a bit safer with the whole idea of superhero stuff. But now I'm going back to this house, I don't even want to step into it. Like there's danger swirling inside.
I blink my eyes nervously, taking the first two steps onto the old porch. I grab the doorknob and see it's already unlocked.
Odd...neither Mom or Dad is home though.
Maya instantly runs upstairs to my bedroom as I glance around. I take a look around. No break-in. No nothing. The house is alright. Maybe they just forgot to lock it? I walk upstairs to my room and place my bag down. I let out a sigh of relief before turning to Maya.
"Stay here, okay?"
She curls up on the bed which signifies she'll stay. I turn around and take a deep breath in. I just need to look around. It's not strange if it belongs to me, right? My father hides everything after all.
I go into the spare room and look around. Everything's quite normal. If the drawers didn't have locks. I grumble, before going to my room. I pick up some bobby pins before going back to drawers. I've picked a lock before but it is difficult if you don't know what you're doing.
I decide to pick the first one, struggling with it as I turn it around left and right.
"Come on...come on...!"
I hear a click which my eyebrows raise. I pull open the drawer, success! I peer inside, taking out some files. I flip through them, confused.
"You're working with Doctor Sivana?" The words slip out my mouth out loud as I take a closer look at them. The information I learn shocks me. Doctor Sivana has been trying to find the same place that Billy went to! Saying pure of heart, one true hero. It looks like he didn't get it...Billy did.
But who's Doctor Sivana? I know the Sivana family, which one of them is Doctor Sivana?
I put the files back and close it up. I pick the second lock, pulling it open. Nothing.
"Well, that was a waste of time."
I close it again and try to do the third one. I struggle a bit more with this one, in fact. Quite a bit. At last, I hear a click, and I sigh with relief. My hand goes on the handle and pull. It doesn't budge, it seems jammed because I know it's unlocked.
"Good God..." I grumble under my breath. I tug it a bit more, and I can see it moving. What's got it jammed?
"Gah!"
I pull the drawer out completely, falling backward and knocking the fan over.
"SHIT!"
It breaks on the ground, a hand covers my mouth. I'm so done for!
I turn my head to look at what was in the drawer...My eyes widen.
There, sits two armor, arm pieces. They don't seem to be of this world, dark and grey. I pick up one and touch the top middle of the armor piece, a panel opens up and shows that it's disconnected from what looks like the armor back storage piece. It's probably the size of half my back, not too massive not too small but could be useful. I notice a chip in each of the armor pieces so I take them out, and put them into the storage piece. It clicks over the chips and glows.
