Chapter 2 - Confronting the Past

Amy's POV

So Ciel is now 17, Lizzy is also 17...WHERE DID THE TIME GO!?

"Ciel I still can't believe you and Lizzy are 17 years old now. And look how tall you've gotten! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LITTLE BOY I KNEW 3 YEARS AGO?!" I asked when we sat down in the drawing room near our cabins

"Ciel had a bit of a growth spurt after he turned 15. We both did but his was more noticeable" Lizzy told me.

She's grown so much more mature. We all have...

"Something on your mind Lady Amy?" Paula asked me

"Huh? Oh it's nothing. Just thinking to myself is all. We've all grown and changed so much in the past three years. Heck this December 21st Fenrir and I are celebrating our marriage...but I wonder how Amybrine and the rest of the demons are doing. I haven't seen them in so long though........" I started

"Yeah. 2 years now since we last saw Amybrine or any of them. The only ones we've seen are Flare and Sona since they are the darker parts of you and they guard the gateway between our worlds and theirs." Fenrir added

"Two years? That seems very unusual for Lady Amybrine and all the others. I'm aware Daybreak, Scythe, Shadow and Amarus have been helping the shinigami as of late since the Undertaker speaks highly of Scythe since they are courting but that is strange" Sebastian added then low and behold Amybrine appears!

"Hey Amy...." she said to me then I saw how much she had changed. She wasn't a shy or naïve girl, she is a full on warrior of hell now

"Why haven't you came to visit in two years?" I asked

"Things have been pretty hectic for a while back home. What with Ruby now, Midnight and Ash have their own daughter, and the new Spirit Alliance being forged....but that's besides the point. I did come to apologize to you, for that reason. Everyone else would have but with things the way they were for a bit we couldn't"

"What do you mean the way they were? Did something happen?" Vincent asked

"*sigh*.....yeah.....a war happened. We were all fighting and won but the aftermath clean-up was intense..." WHAT?!

"Amybrine...why didn't you say something to me! I could have helped!" I said to the devil

"HOW?! YOU DON'T HAVE THE HELLFIRE GIFT ANYMORE! When your arm was mended you lost the hellfire gift and we never found a way to give it to you! Hell was at war within itself. Heaven was at war with Gehenna. Blaze, Mom, Dad, myself, EVERYONE In the hellfire and heavenly lineage were all fighting to save our worlds from ending themselves." Amybrine explained

"My grandparents Asmodeus and Lilith died during the war which forced my Uncle Satan to seal all gateways to Gehenna that we have. Only opening them for souls which are sent down to him..." Amybrine added and I saw she was so heartbroken. Her eyes began to well up so I sat her next to me and held her close

"I can't pay my respects to the grandparents I love nor can I visit my favourite uncle...." I heard her say in between tears

Amybrine's POV

"Have you talked to your mom to see if she could break the seal being in the same bloodline or even one of the nine guardians?" Amy asked me

"I've spoken to mom but not the guardians....mayhap I should go do that now....and hey. I know your birthday is still a few days away but happy 18th Amy"

"Thanks" then I returned to my castle but instead of going to the guardians I went straight to my bedroom, faceplanted the bed and just broke.

It's been a year now and nothing has changed

"Firestar? Is everything alright?" I heard someone ask

I sat up with my red puffy eyes and saw my dad standing in the doorway. He didn't say anything else and instead came over and pulled me into his chest

"Hey...what's the matter Amybrine? You seemed so joyful earlier..." he asked me as he stroked my hair

"I just....I miss uncle Satan, grandpa Asmodeus and Grandma Lilith so much daddy! It's been a year and uncle Satan still hasn't lifted his ward seal!" I shouted in between my tears

"Oh my sweet flame. Why didn't you come talk to me or your mother? We know you've been planning our anniversary gala but if you've been harbouring these feelings you should have said something to one of us." Dad explained then I saw Ruby and Flarian run past the doors

"They look up to you especially. Those two pups of yours. So why don't we go visit Satan?" Dad said to me

"How? He sealed the gateways" I asked

"Follow me" so I did and he brought us down to the gateway where I saw mom and three figures

"Even though you never told me what was going on, a mother's instinct told me something was wrong. So after a lot of work we were able to revive Asmodeus and Lilith." Mom told me

I could feel the tears welling up then the three figures came into the light. My uncle with my grandparents.

"Listen Amybrine. I'm sorry I sealed up the gateway for so long. I had no clue you loved coming to Gehenna as much as you did after Fi told me what was going on" Uncle Satan told me then I just broke again and he held me close

"I will never put you through that again. I promise. I love you Amybrine. You are my beautiful niece and I will never seal up the gateway again without making it so my family can come and go" he added

I dried my eyes then smiled at him

"Thank you Uncle Satan" I replied with tears in my eyes and rolling down my face

"Now how about we unlock the gates to Gehenna again? Together?" he asked

"Alright. Can we get Flarian and Ruby first though? Since technically they are in your bloodline." I asked

"Why not" he told me then I whistled for my two kids

"Hi mom"

"Hi Mommy" My heart flutters every time Ruby says 'mommy' to me like IT'S TOO CUTE!

"You know the incantation" Mom told me

I nodded with a smile then held out my right hand to the gate

"With these soul fires I summon thee, break down the barrier diving hell from Gehenna, I summon forth Limbo the sole protector of the realm barriers! I COMMAND THE SATANIC SHACKLES TO BE NO MORE!" then at once the gates flew open and I saw Pandemonium Palace again. The castle that's like a second home to me.
