The Lost Siren

Seated upon her rocky coral throne
As light upon the sea bed shone
Adorning a shell crown
And frothy sea foam
With her gaze facing down
The beautous siren was alone
~
Melodies and salted tears
Miles away from land
Full of loneliness that bears
Strife in her song
No shore sand to grasp in hand
No lover who which she could long
Though in the mist appeared
~
Rippled waves, a wooden raft
A sailor thrown adrift
Lonesome on an aimless path
The sailor chose to sit
And listen to her serenade
As ocean waves, and misty spray
Cascaded past her face
Gently brushing on her lips
She softly hummed

"Sailor lost at sea
Oh how you've come to me
Tired, tattered
A skeleton cast to these waters
Weary and battered
Unto me, I'm deeply honored
Hair messy, sullen eyes
Like the horizon's sun
Beard unkempt, your battle is done
As is mine, bear in mind
No longer are we alone"
