White Phantom

The chorus of a path
Drifting through the smoky fog
Floating forest crafted to a labyrinth
Yet to a certain degree of magic
I find myself before you once again
In this travel through the astral
My one true only friend
White Phantom of the ethereal
Not a guide nor guardian
Times of sulking in the grit
The hardship
You'd raise my head
Lift my spirits so to speak
With relative ease
Where my skeleton leaves behind
An aching demeanor
In the mesh of physicality
You would soon become a habit
White Phantom
With each visit carrying a lesson
Showing me compassion
In no ordinary fashion
That we still carry love
Even when we're mistreated
Despite the nervousness
When you returned one day
Lessons of self worth came about
That we are never meant to drown
In the depths of our mind
That sorrow isn't of our roots
That hold us in the ground
That we shouldn't tremble
In the face of our demons
Lessons of determination
White Phantom
In the face of uncertainty
To continue onward
And leave behind our former selves
For their journey ended long ago
White phantom
As I drift with you
I learn more of myself each day
And what you have to offer
What was overlooked
Similar to myself
Through skin and bones
Chilling cold of the spirit
Retracing steps
And, may we forget
The things that kill us slow
Pillaging our souls
As we drift
