Richie POV

On our way back from the quarry, everybody stayed silent. It was a comfortable silence, yet there was one question secretly bothering all of us. I'm afraid of the answer but eventually I can't stand the unknown.

„Hey guys, do you think we'll forget about eachother again?"
Mike shakes his head.
„Well now that Pennywise is dead and Derry basically just is like any other town, I think we'll be fine"

I really do hope so. Since I left Derry my life has been a single blurr. Everything a haze, without even knowing. At the time I didn't even realize my lack of knowledge in basic things from my childhood. It constantly felt like something was missing but I could never quite put my finger on it.
I don't want to forget, because forgetting would let my brain go back to the haze, the unknown, the void.

„Guy's, I'm exhausted I think I'll go back to the hotel now. Are you guys still here tomorrow or do you have somewhere to go?" Bev asks, sounding like she's just about to fall asleep.

„Actually, I do. My wife is probably worried sick about where I've been and I really don't want her getting too mad, so I'm probably leaving tomorrow morning." Bill says, looking at Bev and all of us with a sorry expression.

„Yeah, same here. My wife basically had a heart attack when I left home. I can't stay any longer or she'll really end up having a heart attack."
This comes from Eddie. After saying this he looks at me so quickly I barely notice it.

„Guys, what the fuck? Here you are whining about your wives at home and that leaves me wondering what I've been doing my whole fucking life." Everybody starts laughing.

„Don't worry Rich, you'll find that special someone one of these day's, just gotta stay optimistic." Bev says, patting my back and letting out another chuckle.

„Rich? Who'd every want to marry that trashmouth?" Eddie starts laughing.

„Shut the fuck up. You probably ended up marrying your mother asshole. Although I gotta say, banging her surely is memorable."

Eddie glares at me but it looks like he can't really defend himself on that. Almost as if my words hold some truth.

„Girls girls please enough with the arguing." Mike says, rolling his eyes at us.

Eddie mumbles „Yeah whatever." His expression turns from annoyed, to worried. „We will see eachother again though, right?"

„Of course we will dumbass. I'm don't wanna live my life knowing I'll never see any of you fucking losers again!" Eventhough my wording makes it sound like I don't care about them, I really do, and they know it.

Eventually we all just break into a big group hug. We stay huddled up for about five minutes  until Bill says: „Okay losers, I gotta get going." He smiles at all of us. We know that this won't be the last time we see eachother. The losers club is just to important for that.

In the end, we all end up exchanging numbers and everybody goes their seperate ways. Although not everybody, turns out Eddie is staying at the same hotel I am.

„What, you following me now to make sure I don't end up banging your mom in my hotelroom? Aw Eds don't worry, I hate doing that in hotels anyways."

„Shut up Richie. I have a room in this hotel too you know. Don't pretend like my whole world evolves around you." Eddie says, rolling his eyes at me. He might have grown into an adult, but he still has the same features that he had as a child.

He then stops.

„Hey Richie?"
„Yes dipshit?"
He takes in a deep breath.
„Thanks man. If it weren't for you, I'd be somewhere impaled in the underground of Derry right now, rotting away."
He looks at me with a disgusted, but very relieved look on his face.
„No problemo. Couldn't let my best buddy just die like that, right?"
We arrive in front of our hotelrooms, that are coincidentally right next to eachother.

„Hey man come here!" Eddie is standing there with wide arms. I approach him and and he embraces me, filling my body with a certain warmth, I haven't felt in many years. It feels so familiar, so safe, that I don't ever want to let go of his still tiny body. But I know I have no other choice, do I? So I pull away, eventhough I really really don't want to.

Eddie smiles at me. „See ya man, see ya soon."

I don't want to say goodbye. „Yeah you too, I'll have fun with your mom in the meantime." He just rolles his eyes at that comment and unlocks his roomdoor.
„Whatever asshole." He says, smiling to himself as he walks into his room.

I'm left standing in the hallway. Alone. I walk into my room and start packing my bag. I guess I'm on my own again. I didn't even manage to tell Eddie- oh whatever. Not like it matters anyways.

He is married after all.
