Chapter 54 - i'm ok

i shouldn't be this weak again...

Mina clenched her fists. This wasn't right. She had sworn to herself to just accept her fate.

She broke away from the hug, wiping her tears clean.
"Thanks a lot, Jeongyeon... but honestly, I think I was just using you as someone to move on to. At that time, I still couldn't let go of my ex. So... please don't think too much about the Mina that once had feelings for you, let's just pretend this never happened, okay?"

Mina's voice shook with desperation. The thing she feared most—that Jeongyeon knowing her feelings would end their friendship—was right here before her.

(From afar, they both noticed Sana)

I don't want to lose you... please don't let this be the end, Mina begged in her mind. Staring at her shoes, her heart hammered painfully in her chest. The silence dragged her down.

"Can we still be friends?" Jeongyeon asked gloomily.

Mina started regretting that night she drank too much soju.

"We really still can be friends, right?" Jeong asked again, her tone heavy with a strange guilt.

Mina blinked at that tone.

Jeong sighed. "This happened before... I hurt a good friend's feelings, I made her sad... for not liking her back"

Mina's chest tightened. "If you really like Sana, you don't have to be worried about me"

"Umm..."

"You don't have to"

"No... I... umm..."

"Just go~ Get her, I'm okay" Mina forced a smile.

"It's alright, I'm okay too, I just want you to be okay" Jeong was still worried.

"Tss, when I say I'm okay, it means I'm okay" Mina smiled faintly.

"I don't believe you,"

"I just want everyone around me to be happy, that's all... Do you want to stop being friends with me?" Jeong asked gloomily again.

"I know what kind of person you are, Jeong... to some people, they might want to stop being friends. but to me, we can still be friends," Mina smiled to not worry her.

Jeong's lips quivered into a relieved smile.

"Now go, Go to your Sana," Mina teased softly.

"Thank you so much, Minari." Jeong patted her shoulder, then broke into a run.

Mina smiled at the scene, feeling a huge weight lift from her chest. Yes, she once liked Jeongyeon—but she realized it was comfort she sought, not love. A desperate grasp from a broken heart.

But as Jeong ran toward Sana, something was wrong.

A man stood too close behind Sana. Not Tzuyu. Someone suspicious.

Jeong's eyes sharpened. ...No way. She doubled her speed! Tripled! Quadrupled!

"Jeongyeon?? Weren't you with Mina?" Sana asked, but Jeong ignored her.

In one motion, she chopped down at the man's phone—sending it spinning to the ground.

"What the hell!? Are you crazy!?" the guy yelled.

"Eh? What's wrong?" Sana looked confused.

Without hesitation, Jeong stomped the phone repeatedly, then shoved the man against the fence. Rage boiled in her veins.

Jeongyeon sharply stares down at the guy,  "Delete it," 

The man gulped, then threw a punch straight at her face.

Blood streaked her cheek. Jeong smirked, teeth clenched. She grabbed his collar and slammed her forehead into his.

The guy staggered, bleeding. But Jeong didn't stop—her fists rained down.

"People—" punch
"Like—" punch
"You—" punch
"Should—" punch
"Rot—" punch
"In—" punch
"Hell—!" punch

His mouth split, blood dripping. The crowd gasped, but Jeong didn't care. Her knuckles throbbed, but her fury demanded more.

"Jeongyeon-ah... enough..." Sana's trembling voice reached her.

Jeong's chest heaved. The guy shoved her off and fled.

She was about to chase him when Sana suddenly hugged her wrist tight.
"Jeongyeon-ah, please..."

Her rage dissolved instantly. She blinked down at Sana's arms holding her.

Jeong ruffled her hair. "Don't cry—"

"W-who's crying!?" sniffle

"Tss, people who cry are wimpy puppies~" Jeong teased.

Sana smacked her.

"Ow! Did you just hit me? ㅋㅋㅋ"

"I don't care! Now you're coming with me!" Sana huffed, grabbing her arm.

Jeong bent down quickly to snatch the shattered phone off the ground before Sana dragged her away.

"Eh?? W-where are we going, Sanaa??"
