"Alex!" You yell, hands cupped around your mouth as you venture into the miner's base. "Alex?"
"We could leave a message for her." Herobrine suggests. "Via a sign or a book and quill. It's inefficient to just come back every day and look."
"I guess, yeah." You sigh, planting your hands on you hips. You'd been here the day before, just long enough to yell for her a few times before moving on. "Do you know if she travels a lot?"
"I do not. We've never spoken much, but she dislikes me by extension as a friend of Steve's." Herobrine places a sign on the wall and touches it, causing text to appear letter-by-letter. "It's quite possible she has other bases that she may reside in. Could you look around and see if there's a Nether portal network somewhere?"
"Yeah." You wander off down the hall, passing by a huge library and a room filled with chests as the hallway slopes downwards. Alex's base looks bigger and more structured than Steve's, suggesting that she's a bit more of a perfectionist than him. From what you've learned about him since you met, Steve's content enough to have a system that works for him, no matter how disorganized it appears to others.
At the end of the hallway is a staircase, which leads down to a fancily-decorated Nether portal. After drawing your sword - just in case - you slip through, and appear in a well-lit room made out of various types of stone bricks. Alex really doesn't mess around.
You glance outside to see several torch trails leading off in different directions, most likely leading to other portals. You're not going to explore them all, though, at least not without Herobrine, so you turn around and cross back through to the Overworld.
The moment you step out of the portal frame, a hand clamps over your mouth and you're shoved up against the wall.
"You're not Alex." A male voice states as you let out a muffled shriek. "Actually, I've never seen anything like you before. What are you?" Hand tightening on the handle of your sword, you twist your wrist in an attempt to stick your captor with the blade, but his other hand wrenches it out of your grip and he pins your hands behind your back.
Footsteps echo down the stairway. Herobrine. You try to bite your attacker's hand, but he yanks it away and shoves your head into the wall, drawing a cry as your head slams into the stone. Through the stars in your vision, you see red particles appearing around you, and you realize just before the room vanishes that this is what had happened to Steve.
The wall disappears, and you crumple forward as the grip on your arms is released. You manage to catch yourself before you hit the stone floor, but the impact still sends a spike of pain through your forearms. Groaning, you flip yourself over, propping yourself up with one arm to face your captor.
Standing over you, arms crossed over his chest, is a young man dressed entirely in white. His skin is jet black, nearly as black as Null's, and his eyes glow red with an eerie light by which you can only just make out his features. He raises an eyebrow at you, and you fix him with the coldest glare you can muster in return.
"Who the **** are you?!"
"I asked you first." He doesn't flinch. "You must be a new addition. A pretty little thing like yourself can't have been around for long, not with no info about you available."
"What in the world are you going on about??"
"Never mind. What do they call you?"
"My name is Y/N, I am the queen of the Nether, and you-" You jab a finger at him. "You are going to regret messing with me."
"Queen of the Nether?" His other eyebrow goes up. "I thought we weren't getting more Nether content until 1.16."
"What??" Was he talking about a future update? How much time had passed in the real world? Who was he, anyway?? "You never answered my question. Who are you?!"
"You can call me Entity 303." The name is vaguely familiar, but you can't put your finger on it. "Get up." He gestures curtly, taking a step back, and you struggle upright with a groan.
"Herobrine's gonna make you pay for this."
"Oh! You know him?" 303's face breaks into a grin, revealing yellowed teeth. "Please, tell me all about him. I didn't even know he was real until I hunted down Steve in the Nether a while back."
"You did take him!" You take a step towards him, but your head throbs with pain again and you halt in your tracks. "Where is he!?"
"Geez, calm down. He's fine, just safely locked away." Turning away, 303 waves you along with him. "Keep up."
"Why would I do that??" You sputter. "You just kidnapped me, you're threatening me, you took Steve and did something to him, why on earth would I do what you say??" The man stops.
"...because I kidnapped you? I'm threatening you? I'm far more powerful than you could ever imagine, and if you don't come voluntarily, I'll make you?" He snaps his fingers. "Keep up." You follow.
The name he's given you keeps nagging at your head, a memory you think is a few years old, but you don't remember its' origin. He definitely doesn't look familiar, and you're pretty sure you'd remember a... striking appearance like his.
303 leads you down through the cave, from rough stone into a stone-brick hallway. You haven't passed a single light source, but you have yet to see any mobs. Your captor is most likely stopping them from spawning.
Finally, you approach a single torch at the end of the hallway. You notice a few iron doors lining the hall, not unlike a dungeon - which you have no doubt that this is. Coming to the last door, 303 gestures towards it, causing it to swing open to reveal a nearly pitch-black room.
"Your quarters, oh majesty." He mocks, and you take a few moments to glare at him before making your way into the cell. Immediately, the door is slammed shut behind you, and you're left in total darkness.
Grumbling under your breath, you sink to the floor, reaching out to the sides to try and get an idea of the confines of your prison. You can't feel any walls from where you sit near the door, so at least you have a bit of room to move around. Clutching your arms to your chest, you curse the heat of the Nether under your breath. While perfectly reasonable down there, the sleeveless gown you typically wear feels uncomfortably bare in this cold cave.
Slowly, you scoot back until you hit the wall and curl up around your knees. Whoever your captor is, he seems to be pretty powerful. You can't teleport, you're not physically strong enough to get yourself out of this cell, and without a weapon you doubt you can beat him in a one-on-one fight. Basically, you're stuck waiting for Herobrine again.
This isn't any more fun than the last time you got kidnapped and locked up, but you still don't have any influence on the situation, so all you can do is sit and hope your husband comes soon.
