When the bioship landed in the Mount Justice hangar, William and Tommy felt their anxiety spike. They dutifully followed the team out of the bioship and through the Mountain, stopping in the doorway of the mission room when they saw the gathering of the Justice Leaguers and Quicksilver.

Tommy grabbed William's arm in excitement, pointing out the heroes. "Billy, look! Its the Justice League and Quicksilver!"

Billy squinted his eyes at Pietro, eyeing him suspiciously.

I wonder if he figured out that Quicksilver is his uncle yet. I mean, look at his face.

Shh, Quicksilver is about to talk to them.

Pietro took a hesitant step towards the twins, tears brimming in his eyes. "You...you look just like her."

Billy and Tommy exchanged a look. "Uh, what are you talking about? Who do we look like?"

Pietro shook his head. "Let me start from the beginning. My name is Pietro Maximoff, I am Quicksilver of the Avengers, and twin brother of Wanda Maximoff, or the Scarlet Witch. I am also your uncle." Billy and Tommy's eyes nearly popped out of their head. Pietro held up his hands in a surrender position. "I know, I know, it sounds crazy. Let me explain. Wanda had you two when she was just fifteen, when we were living in a shack in Sokovia. She knew she would be unable to care for you two, so she reached out to Agent Natasha Romanoff of S.H.I.E.L.D., who came and facilitated the adoption process. Agent Romanoff has been keeping tabs on the two of you ever since, keeping Wanda informed ever since we joined the Avengers. I'm sorry I had to be the one to tell you that you are adopted-"

"Oh, we've known we were adopted from the start." Tommy cut Pietro off, Billy nodding in agreement. "So, we are the Scarlet Witch's children?"

"Yes." Pietro confirmed, eyes scanning the twins' faces once more. "Why do you not seem shocked?"

"Well, I mean, I have your powers and Billy's powers are similar to mom's, so we've always had a suspicion." Tommy shrugged.

"Speaking of Billy, why hasn't he said a word?" Wally gestured to Billy, making the younger teen shrink back. "Is he mute?"

"No, his words are powerful. When he speaks, reality warps to his whims, so he uses his words sparingly." Tommy explained. "Like I said, his powers are similar to mom's."

"So your twin can warp reality, teleport, and heal himself? What else can he do?" Artemis asked sarcastically, not actually expecting a response.

"He is telekinetic, can fly, control fire, ice, energy, and light. He can also heal others as well." Tommy grinned proudly. "Pretty neat, huh?"

"He won the power jackpot." Dick mumbled to Wally who nodded in agreement.

Tommy turned back to Pietro, excitement practically seeping out of him. "So, can we meet mom now? Where is she?"

"She's at the Watchtower." Black Canary provided. "She's...not feeling well."

"What does that mean?"

"It means she wishes she could be here herself but...unexpected circumstances arose and have prevented her from being here."

Tommy frowned Billy scowled. "So she doesn't actually want to meet us? You guys brought us here without her knowledge? Why?"

"No! She has spent every second of your lives wishing for nothing but to hold you again. She cannot be here because she is in a coma." Pietro exclaimed.

"Why didn't you say so?"

"I am not entirely sure." Pietro grit out, glaring at the Justice League.

Why didn't they just tell them straight up?

Who knows with the Justice League? Maybe they don't fully trust the twins?

Well, Billy was just in juvie...

We've discussed this, it was a misunderstanding.

Technically it wasn't, they were stealing.

Whatever.

"Well, can we see her anyways?" Tommy was bouncing anxiously on his toes, looking between the Justice League and Pietro.

"That is not a good idea." Batman grunted, narrowing his eyes at the twins.

"And why not?"

"Her condition is not one you want to see."

"If we can't meet our mother, why did you bother bringing us here?" Tommy snapped, practically vibrating with anger. "What was the point of all this, huh? Just to taunt us? Oh, look at the poor abandoned homeless twins. No one wants them, not even mommy."

"That is not true!"

"Then let us see our mother!"

"No."

"Why go through the trouble of finding us then?"

"For your protection!" Pietro exclaimed, shutting Tommy up. "Wanda has a mysterious illness that caused her powers to go out of control, forcing her to put herself in a coma. She feared it may be genetic, so her last conscious words were to find the two of you, to protect you."

Tommy and Billy blinked owlishly at the group. They weren't expecting to hear that their mother was sick, let alone that they may be sick as well with the same illness. Tommy looked sheepishly at the ground, avoiding the eyes of everyone. "I...I didn't know. I'm sorry."

Pietro softened, walking up to the twins. He hesitantly pulled them both into a hug, one they both gladly accepted. "Its okay, how could you have known?"

"Where are we going to stay?" Tommy suddenly blurted, remembering the tent he abandoned in the alley back in Washington.

"Here, at the mountain." Wonder Woman told them, gesturing to the space around them. "As long as you don't leave the mountain and get along with the team, everything should be fine."

The twins looked to the team. "That shouldn't be a problem."

Pietro clapped his hands once. "Good, well, I should be getting back to the complex now. If you ever need anything, Billy and Tommy, the League knows how to reach me." With that Pietro exited via the zeta tubes, leaving the Justice League and the teens.

"Well, we will leave you as well. We still have our own jobs to do as well. We can't spend all our time babysitting you." Superman chuckled, leading the charge towards the zeta tubes.

Once it was just the teens, Dick turned to face everyone. "So, what now?"
