Part 7

You and Unlocked the door to your apartment and let Ed inside.

"Y/N." He said walking over to Peppers cage. "I didn't know you had birds. you know I studied birds in high school."

"The sun conure was given to me today. That's why I was late." You said covering up the brightly colored parrot with a black sheet before doing the same with Pepper. "As much as I'd love to introduce you to them, it's past their bed time."

"Who gave it to you?" There was a hint of jealousy in his tone.

You paused. You completely forgot to ask Jim about who dropped it off for you. "I have no idea. They said they were a friend though." You squinted your eyes towards the cage. "But I never told anyone that I wanted a sun conure."

You set your bag on your round wooden coffee table. Pulling out all the files you and Ed had to work on that night.

"Can I get you a cup of tea, or coffee Ed?" You asked as he sat down and clicked his pen.

"Coffee please, black will suffice."

Time skip

You and Ed finished up the paperwork just past 2:00 am.

"I'll take it all with me and do one more finalization on it in the morning." He said putting his coat on.

"Thank you Ed." He stopped and turned on his heels.

"What?"

"I said thank you." You blushed and looked down.

"It was no problem at all y/n, just one day of work, nothing much."

"No Ed, I mean thank you for being my friend." You took a deep breath. You could feel his confused eyes on you. "Thank you for helping me. I really like you Ed." You looked up to see his face inches from yours. You could smell the coffee on his breath. "You're the best person in my life right now."

"Y/N, I don't know what to say to that." He still had confusion in his eyes.

"I know you don't feel the same way. But I just needed to tell you. I have a weird feeling in my gut, and I needed to tell you, I really care about you Ed. More than you could ever know."

"I-I should go. Goodnight y/n." He hurried out the door. But before you could close it he stopped it with his foot.

You looked up into his dark eyes and before you knew it his lips were on yours. You didn't see it coming and before you knew it, the kiss was over. And he was making his way towards the parking lot. You stood and watched until he disappeared around the corner of the hallway.

Walking back into your apartment you had no words. You simply cleaned up you and Ed's cups from earlier and went to take a shower.

Getting out of the shower you were still in shock from the kiss Ed have you. So much so that you didn't notice the dark figure standing in the corner of your bedroom.

You got dressed into sweatpants and a baggy grey shirt and turned to go to your bed. But the dark figure was right behind you. You didn't even have time to scream before he had put a needle in your neck.

You fell to the floor of your bedroom as the world around you went black.
