Hermione's POV

My curiosity started the morning of the Yule Ball. Harry was sweating and stuttering all morning, anxiously looking around. However, when I asked if there was a girl he fancied or wanted to ask, he shrugged and said he wasn't looking for anyone at the moment- then continued his nervous antics less than a minute later.

However, after lunch, when he had mysteriously vanished for over twenty minutes, he seemed in a outright ecstatic mood- although a bit ruffled. Once again, I asked if he saw someone while he was out, and he said no- so I assumed it was him doing "boy things". It would explain why he was more relaxed and looking a bit disheveled. I held nothing against him- it was purely a relaxing activity that I myself occasionally did when faced with long, stressful nights of homework and studying- though I doubted either of those things is what had Harry uptight. The idiot couldn't seem to bring himself to stress over academics- not seeming to care less about his grades as of recently. He didn't even come to me for help anymore, always stating he was going to go to the library and look for answers there.

So, when it came time for the Yule Ball, I wasn't exactly surprised to realize Harry had vanished half-way through- which is exactly why I had tucked the Mauraders map into my dress. I tucked myself into the corner of the room, hiding away for a moment to open the map and search for Harry's name. I frowned in concern once I saw him in the halls, right across from Malfoy. Assuming they were fighting, I rushed out to intervene- but instead found them just out of sight from the doorway, Malfoy holding Harry around the waist with his face buried in Harry's hair while Harry held his hands around the back of his neck, his face buried in the cradle of Malfoys shoulder, bodies gently pressed together as they swayed with the music, slow and gentle and without any words between them.

Slipping back into the grand hall, I looked around until I found Pansy, who was talking with Zambini and looking around. I walked over and grabbed her arm, holding a finger to my lips as I led her away from the ball and out into the halls, pointing at the two boys, still dancing together close to the wall, now whispering quietly to each other.

Pansy had to bite her wrist to muffle her gasp, a look of elation crossing her face, her eyes lighting up. We agreed to not tell anyone for the sake of the boys, who seemed to be enjoying their time alone together, isolated from the rest of the world. After an hour or so, I noticed that they had moved into a different location, much more secluded. I grabbed Pansy and we both slipped off our shoes, padding carefully along the halls until we found the two of them once more- which wasn't all too hard.

Malfoy was leaning against the wall with Harry in his lap, both of them talking just loud enough for us to hear. "I don't want to go back," Harry whimpered quietly, leaning into Malfoy more. "I finally get to be with you outside of the Room of Requirements two days a week and we have to go spend time apart from each other on one of those two days?"

"I know love, but Pansy will absolutely loathe me for leaving her alone. She needs someone to whine about her feelings to, and apparently I'm the only person that has ears? I don't know, but you should return to Weasel and Granger. You disappearing typically isn't a good thing, and you know how the red-head gets when you vanish."

Harry rolled his eyes with a soft groan, dropping his head onto Dracos shoulder. "I love them to death but god. I can't have a private life. Mione has asked me like six times today why I was so nervous or if I was meeting up with a girl-"

"Like after our snogging session during lunch?"

"Yeah, right after I came back and she was like 'were you with someone?' I think she thought I was getting myself off."

"Oh please, with me in the building? I can't have Harry Potter do anything sexual without me. I will barge through the Gryffindor commons to fuck you at three in the morning if you need it."

"Oh really now?" Harry raised his head with a cocked eyebrow. "Any time I need a nice shag you'll just... Poof?"

     "Poof," Malfoy assured, grinning cheekily.

"Well... I mean, the ball doesn't end for another few hours..." Harry wrapped his arms around Malfoys neck, slowly leaning close enough so that their noses brushed. "And, honestly," Harry leaned forward to press a quick yet passionate kiss to Malfoys lips before pulling away. "Parkinson and Mione are probably making out and I would be surprised if Ron wasn't doing the same with Lavender."

Pansy made a soft noise of shock at the 'Parkinson and Mione' part and their heads snapped towards us. Harry swallowed hard. "Well. We had a good run, right? I'm going to be murdered so-"

"Same," Malfoy agreed with a miserable sigh. "We had a good few weeks, yeah? I mean, at least we got a few weeks."

"Boys, relax. We'll just go... Uhm... Make out..? Apparently..? Obviously, Potter's dying to be shagged so we'll leave you to it." With that, Pansy grabbed my hand and dragged me away, my face flamed.

Thirty minutes later, I made sure to fix my hair and charm a layer of makeup over the bruises on my neck before entering the hall again, Pansy winking at me as she skipped happily to join Zambini. The next day, Pansy and I exchanged knowing looks when the Gryffindor table bombarded Harry with questions about where he was, and I could hear the Slytherins doing the same with Malfoy, who only rolled his eyes.

Only I noticed how Harry flinched when he sat down, sending him a smirk while he flushed with a half-hearted glare, only making me grin wider. He then motioned to a point on my neck where my hickies lay as I flushed, flipping him off while we both laughed.
